¹ For this reason we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things heard, that we should not slip away at any time.

⁹ Only, take heed to yourself and keep your soul carefully, that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen; and that they not depart from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your sons, and to your sons':

²³ Take heed to yourselves, that you not forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He has made with you, and make to yourselves a graven image, a likeness of anything which Jehovah your God has forbidden you.

⁴⁶ and said to them, Set your heart on all the words which I have testified against you today, that you command your sons to take heed to do all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is not a useless Word for you, for it is your life, and by this Word you shall prolong your days in the land where you are crossing over the Jordan, there to possess it.

¹¹ And you shall be very watchful for yourselves to love Jehovah your God. ¹² But if you at all turn away and cleave to the remnant of the nations, of those who are left to you, and intermarry with them, and go in to them, and they to you,

¹³ then you shall prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the judgments that Jehovah commanded Moses as to Israel; be strong and courageous; do not fear, nor be cast down.

⁹ Beth By what shall a young man purify his way, to keep it according to Your word?

¹ My son, if you will receive My words, and treasure up My commandments with you, ² so that you attend to wisdom, you shall extend your heart to understanding. ³ For if you cry for discernment, lifting up your voice for understanding; ⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as hidden treasures, ⁵ then you shall understand the fear of Jehovah and find knowledge of God. ⁶ For Jehovah gives wisdom; out of His mouth are knowledge and understanding.

²¹ My son, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and judgment,

¹ Sons, hear the instruction of a father, and listen so as to know understanding. ² For I give you good teaching, do not forsake my law. ³ For I was my father's son, tender and an only one in the sight of my mother. ⁴ And he taught me and said to me, Let your heart cling to my words; keep my commands and live.

²⁰ My son, listen to my words; bow your ear to what I say; ²¹ let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the center of your heart; ²² for they are life to those who find them, and healing to all his flesh.

¹ My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. ² Keep my commands and live, and my law as the pupil of your eye.

⁶ For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, the bitter and impetuous nation which is going into the broad spaces of the land, to possess dwellings not his own.

¹⁶ You are filled with shame instead of glory; you drink also, and will be seen as uncircumcised. The cup of the right hand of Jehovah shall turn on you, and disgrace shall be your glory.

⁹ Do you not perceive nor recall the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many hand baskets you took up?

¹⁸ "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?" And do you not remember? Jer. 5:21

¹⁵ And those in the good ground, these are the ones who in a right and good heart, hearing the Word, they hold it and bear fruit in patience.

⁴⁴ You lay into your ears these sayings, for the Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.

¹ In many parts and in many ways of old, God spoke to the fathers in the prophets; ² in these last days He spoke to us in the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through whom He indeed made the ages;

² For if the word spoken by angels was confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience received a just repayment; ³ how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Which having received a beginning to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by the ones hearing, ⁴ God bearing witness with them by both miracles and wonders, and by various works of power, even by distribution of the Holy Spirit, according to His will.

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which He speaks with you, as with sons, "My sons, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor faint while being corrected by Him.

²⁵ Watch that you do not refuse the One speaking; for if these did not escape who refused Him who divinely warned them on earth, much rather we, those turning away from Heaven; ²⁶ whose voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once" "I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens." Hag. 2:6

¹² For this reason I will not neglect to cause you to remember always concerning these things, though you know and have been confirmed in the present truth. ¹³ But I deem it right, so long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder,

¹⁵ And I will also be diligent to cause you always to have memory of these things after my departure.

¹ Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle, in which by reminder I stir up your sincere mind to remember
