¹ Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

⁶¹ And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. ⁶² And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you?

⁵⁸ We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. ⁵⁹ But neither did their witness agree together. ⁶⁰ And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you?

¹⁹ The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. ²⁰ Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I always taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always met; and in secret have I said nothing. ²¹ Why do you ask me? Ask them who heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.

³³ Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Are you the King of the Jews? ³⁴ Jesus answered him, Say you this thing of yourself, or did others tell it to you of me? ³⁵ Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you unto me: what have you done?

¹³ And set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceases not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: ¹⁴ For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered to us.
