¹ A Psalm of the sons of Korah; a Song. His foundation is in the holy mountains.

¹ Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father; for which provision had been made in the Place of David, in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

¹ (48:1) A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. (48:2) Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, His holy mountain, ² (48:3) Fair in situation, the joy of the whole earth; even mount Zion, the uttermost parts of the north, the city of the great King.

¹⁶ (68:17) Why look ye askance, ye mountains of peaks, at the mountain which God hath desired for His abode? Yea, the LORD will dwell therein for ever.

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?

² And it shall come to pass in the end of days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established as the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. ³ And many peoples shall go and say: 'Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a costly corner-stone of sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste.

⁷ Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

³ Thus saith the LORD: I return unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts The holy mountain.

¹⁸ And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder I laid a foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon. ¹¹ For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

²⁰ being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone, ²¹ in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord, ²² in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

⁴ unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious, ⁵ ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ Because it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious; And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. ⁷ For you therefore that believe is the preciousness; but for such as disobey, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner, ⁸ and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, for they stumble at the word, being disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.

¹⁸ and this voice we ourselves heard borne out of heaven, when we were with him in the holy mount.
