³⁹ But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition, but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.

¹¹ 'It repenteth Me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he is turned back from following Me, and hath not performed My commandments.' And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

¹⁸ (44:19) Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Thy path;

³² For the waywardness of the thoughtless shall slay them, and the confidence of fools shall destroy them.

¹⁴ The dissembler in heart shall have his fill from his own ways; and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

²⁶ Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they come and dwell there; and the last state of that man becometh worse than the first.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.

⁴⁰ For this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have guarded, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

³¹ but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.

³⁰ and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house.

⁹ because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: ¹⁰ for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

⁹ For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

³ let no man beguile you in any wise; for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,

¹² that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ¹³ But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.

⁶ and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. ⁷ For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: ⁸ but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse, whose end is to be burned. ⁹ But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak:

²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins,

¹ Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen.

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

⁷ but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by his word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

⁵ Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁶ If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death; not concerning this do I say that he should make request.

¹² These are they who are hidden rocks in your love-feasts when they feast together, shepherds that without fear feed themselves, clouds without water, carried along by winds, autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots, ¹³ Wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame, wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved forever.

⁸ The beast that thou sawest was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.

¹¹ And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven, and he goeth into perdition.
