¹⁵ But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked - thou didst wax fat, thou didst grow thick, thou didst become gross - and he forsook God who made him, and contemned the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁰ And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land which He swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee - great and goodly cities, which thou didst not build, ¹¹ and houses full of all good things, which thou didst not fill, and cisterns hewn out, which thou the didst not hew, vineyards and olive-trees, which thou didst not plant, and thou shalt eat and be satisfied - ¹² then beware lest thou forget the LORD, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁰ And thou shalt eat and be satisfied, and bless the LORD thy God for the good land which He hath given thee. ¹¹ Beware lest thou forget the LORD thy God, in not keeping His commandments, and His ordinances, and His statutes, which I command thee this day; ¹² lest when thou hast eaten and art satisfied, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; ¹³ and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; ¹⁴ then thy heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

¹⁶ And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Behold, thou art about to sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go astray after the foreign gods of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake Me, and break My covenant which I have made with them.

²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore unto their fathers, flowing with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten their fill, and waxen fat; and turned unto other gods, and served them, and despised Me, and broken My covenant;

⁴ The Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice; a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is He.

⁶ Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not He thy father that hath gotten thee? hath He not made thee, and established thee?

⁵ And there was a king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.

²⁶ There is none like unto God, O Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven as thy help, and in His excellency on the skies.

²⁹ Wherefore kick ye at My sacrifice and at Mine offering, which I have commanded in My habitation; and honourest thy sons above Me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel My people?

⁴⁷ The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God, my Rock of salvation;

²⁵ And they took fortified cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns hewn out, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit-trees in abundance; so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and luxuriated in Thy great goodness.

²⁷ Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, and made collops of fat on his loins;

¹⁰ Their gross heart they have shut tight, with their mouth they speak proudly.

⁴⁶ (18:47) The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation;

⁷ Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.

²⁶ (89:27) He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

¹ O come, let us sing unto the LORD; let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.

⁷⁰ Their heart is gross like fat; but I delight in Thy law.

⁴ Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, children that deal corruptly; they have forsaken the LORD, they have contemned the Holy One of Israel, they are turned away backward.

¹⁰ Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they, seeing with their eyes, and hearing with their ears, and understanding with their heart, return, and be healed.'

² Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob My servant, and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

⁵ Thus saith the LORD: What unrighteousness have your fathers found in Me, that they are gone far from Me, and have walked after things of nought, and are become nought?

⁷ Wherefore should I pardon thee? The children have forsaken Me, and sworn by no-gods; and when I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the harlots' houses.

²⁸ They are waxen fat, they are become sleek; yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they plead not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they might make it to prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

⁶ When they were fed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.

⁵ And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest;

²⁷ For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest, haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.

⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? ⁵ but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God,
