⁴ Let those who seek my life be ashamed and disgraced; let those who plot evil against me be driven back and confounded.

³ For the arrogant have arisen against me; oppressors have sought to take my life. They do not keep God in mind! Interlude

⁴ I am considered as one of those descending into the Pit, like a mighty man without strength, ⁵ released to remain with the dead, lying in a grave like a corpse, remembered no longer, and cut off from your power. ⁶ You have assigned me to the lowest part of the Pit, to the darkest depths.

⁶ Pay attention to my cry, for I have been brought very low. Deliver me from my tormentors, for they are far too strong for me.
