⁵ For they willingly forget this, that the heavens were in the olden time, and the earth standing out of the water and through the water, by the word of God;

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men love darkness rather than light; for their works are evil. ²⁰ For every one doing evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, in order that his works may not be convicted;

²⁸ And as they did not approve to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are inappropriate;

¹⁷ and he before all things, and all things consist in him:

¹⁰ and in all the deception of unrighteousness to those who perish; because they did not receive the divine love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And on this account God sends to them the working of delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² in order that they may all be condemned who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

³ By faith we understand that the worlds were created by the word of God, and that which was seen was not made from things which are manifest.
