¹⁵ Vnto the pure are all things pure, but vnto them that are defiled, and vnbeleeuing, is nothing pure, but euen their mindes and consciences are defiled.

⁴ A hautie looke, and a proude heart, which is the light of the wicked, is sinne.

¹³ If one beare holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt doe touch the bread, or the potage, or the wine, or oyle, or any meate, shall it be holy? And the Priests answered and said, No.

⁵ Speake vnto all the people of the land, and to the Priests, and say, When ye fasted, and mourned in the fift and seuenth moneth, euen the seuentie yeeres, did ye fast vnto me? doe I approoue it? ⁶ And when ye did eate, and when ye did drinke, did ye not eate for your selues, and drinke for your selues?

¹⁸ But those thinges which proceede out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man.

³⁹ And the Lord saide to him, In deede yee Pharises make cleane the outside of the cuppe, and of the platter: but the inwarde part is full of rauening and wickednesse. ⁴⁰ Ye fooles, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also? ⁴¹ Therefore, giue almes of those thinges which you haue, and beholde, all thinges shall be cleane to you.

¹⁵ And the voyce spake vnto him againe the second time, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.

¹⁴ I know, and am perswaded through the Lord Iesus, that there is nothing vncleane of it selfe: but vnto him that iudgeth any thing to be vncleane, to him it is vncleane.

²⁰ Destroy not the worke of God for meates sake: all things in deede are pure: but it is euill for the man which eateth with offence.

²³ For he that doubteth, is condemned if he eate, because he eateth not of faith: and whatsoeuer is not of faith, is sinne.

¹² All thinges are lawfull vnto mee, but all thinges are not profitable. I may doe all things, but I will not be brought vnder the power of any thing. ¹³ Meates are ordeined for the bellie, and the belly for the meates: but God shall destroy both it, and them. Nowe the bodie is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the bodie.

⁷ But euery man hath not that knowledge: for many hauing conscience of the idole, vntill this houre, eate as a thing sacrificed vnto the idole, and so their conscience being weake, is defiled.

²³ All things are lawfull for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawfull for me, but all things edifie not.

²⁵ Whatsoeuer is solde in the shambles, eate ye, and aske no question for conscience sake.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eate, or drinke, or whatsoeuer ye doe, doe all to the glory of God.

²⁷ Wherefore, whosoeuer shall eate this bread, and drinke the cup of the Lord vnworthily, shall be guiltie of the body and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup. ²⁹ For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body.

³ Forbidding to marrie, and commanding to abstaine from meates which God hath created to be receiued with giuing thankes of them which beleeue and knowe the trueth. ⁴ For euery creature of God is good, and nothing ought to be refused, if it be receiued with thankesgiuing.

⁵ Frowarde disputations of men of corrupt mindes and destitute of ye trueth, which thinke that gaine is godlines: from such separate thy selfe.

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ which through the eternall Spirit offered himselfe without fault to God, purge your conscience from dead workes, to serue the liuing God?

²² Let vs drawe neere with a true heart in assurance of faith, our hearts being pure from an euill conscience,
