¹⁹ Dearely beloued, auenge not your selues, but giue place vnto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine: I will repay, saith the Lord.

¹⁸ Thou shalt not auenge, nor be mindful of wrong against ye childre of thy people, but shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe: I am the Lord.

³⁵ Vengeance and recompence are mine: their foote shall slide in due time: for the day of their destruction is at hand, and the things that shall come vpon them, make haste.

⁴³ Ye nations, praise his people: for he will auenge the blood of his seruants, and will execute vengeance vpon his aduersaries, and will bee mercifull vnto his lande, and to his people.

²² Say not thou, I wil recompense euill: but waite vpon the Lord, and he shall saue thee.

¹⁷ Bee thou not glad when thine enemie falleth, and let not thine heart reioyce when hee stumbleth, ¹⁸ Least the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turne his wrath from him. ¹⁹ Fret not thy selfe because of the malicious, neither be enuious at the wicked.

²⁹ Say not, I wil doe to him, as he hath done to mee, I will recompence euery man according to his worke.

¹² Thus sayth the Lord God, Because that Edom hath done euill by taking vengeance vpon the house of Iudah, and hath committed great offence, and reuenged himselfe vpon them,

² God is ielous, and the Lord reuengeth: the Lord reuengeth: euen the Lord of anger, the Lord will take vengeance on his aduersaries, and he reserueth wrath for his enemies. ³ The Lord is slow to anger, but he is great in power, and will not surely cleare the wicked: the Lord hath his way in ye whirlewind, and in the storme, and the cloudes are the dust of his feete.

³⁹ But I say vnto you, Resist not euill: but whosoeuer shall smite thee on thy right cheeke, turne to him the other also.

²⁷ But I say vnto you which heare, Loue your enemies: doe well to them which hate you. ²⁸ Blesse them that curse you, and pray for them which hurt you. ²⁹ And vnto him that smiteth thee on ye one cheeke, offer also the other: and him that taketh away thy cloke, forbid not to take thy coate also.

⁵⁵ But Iesus turned about, and rebuked them, and said, Ye knowe not of what spirit ye are. ⁵⁶ For the Sonne of man is not come to destroy mens liues, but to saue them. Then they went to another towne.

¹⁴ Blesse them which persecute you: blesse, I say, and curse not.

¹⁷ Recompence to no man euill for euill: procure things honest in the sight of all men.

⁴ For he is ye minister of God for thy wealth, but if thou do euill, feare: for he beareth not the sworde for nought: for he is the minister of God to take vengeance on him that doeth euill.

⁶ That no man oppresse or defraude his brother in any matter: for the Lord is auenger of all such thinges, as we also haue tolde you before time, and testified.

³⁰ For we know him that hath sayd, Vengeance belongeth vnto mee: I will recompense, saith the Lord. And againe, The Lord shall iudge his people.
