² God hath not cast away his people which he knew before. Know ye not what the Scripture sayth of Elias, howe hee communeth with God against Israel, saying,

¹⁵ Then Ioseph sayd vnto them, What acte is this, which ye haue done? know ye not that such a man as I, can deuine and prophecie?

¹ Bvt when the people sawe, that Moses taryed long or he came downe from the mountaine, the people gathered themselues together against Aaron, and sayde vnto him, Vp, make vs gods to goe before vs: for of this Moses (the man that brought vs out of the land of Egypt) we knowe not what is become of him.

¹⁵ Then Moses waxed verie angry, and saide vnto the Lord, Looke not vnto their offring: I haue not taken so much as an asse from them, neither haue I hurt any of them.

³⁰ Yet thou diddest forbeare them many yeeres, and protestedst among them by thy Spirite, euen by the hande of thy Prophets, but they woulde not heare: therefore gauest thou them into the hande of the people of the lands.

¹⁴ Surely the Lord will not faile his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

¹⁹ Hearken vnto mee, O Lord, and heare the voyce of them that contend with me. ²⁰ Shall euill be recompensed for good? for they haue digged a pit for my soule: remember that I stood before thee, to speake good for the, and to turne away thy wrath from them. ²¹ Therefore, deliuer vp their children to famine, and let them drop away by the force of the sworde, and let their wiues be robbed of their children, and be widowes: and let their husbands be put to death, and let their yong men be slayne by the sword in the battell. ²² Let the crye bee heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring an hoste suddenly vpon them: for they haue digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feete. ²³ Yet Lord thou knowest al their counsel against me tendeth to death: forgiue not their iniquitie, neither put out their sinne from thy sight, but let them be ouerthrowen before thee: deale thus with them in the time of thine anger.

¹ And Iesus full of the holy Ghost returned from Iordan, and was led by that Spirit into the wildernes,

¹ Nowe when the Lord knew, how the Pharises had heard, that Iesus made and baptized moe disciples then Iohn, ² (Though Iesus himselfe baptized not: but his disciples) ³ Hee left Iudea, and departed againe into Galile.

¹¹ The woman saide vnto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to drawe with, and the well is deepe: from whence then hast thou that water of life?

¹⁷ And now brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your gouernours.

⁴⁰ Saying vnto Aaron, Make vs gods that may goe before vs: for we knowe not what is become of this Moses that brought vs out of the land of Egypt.

⁴⁸ And when the Gentiles heard it, they were glad, and glorified the woorde of the Lord: and as many as were ordeined vnto eternall life, beleeued.

¹⁸ From the beginning of the worlde, God knoweth all his workes.

²⁹ For those which hee knewe before, he also predestinate to bee made like to the image of his Sonne, that hee might be the first borne among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreouer whom he predestinate, them also he called, and whom he called, them also he iustified, and whom he iustified, them he also glorified.

⁶ Notwithstanding it can not bee that the worde of God should take none effect: for all they are not Israel, which are of Israel:

²³ And that hee might declare the riches of his glory vpon the vessels of mercy, which hee hath prepared vnto glory?

² Doe ye not knowe, that the Saintes shall iudge the worlde? If the worlde then shalbe iudged by you, are ye vnworthie to iudge the smallest matters?

²² And whether to liue in the flesh were profitable for me, and what to chuse I knowe not.

¹ At sundry times and in diuers maners God spake in the olde time to our fathers by the Prophetes: in these last dayes hee hath spoken vnto vs by his Sonne, ² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God ye Father vnto sanctification of ye Spirit, through obedience and sprinkeling of the blood of Iesus Christ: Grace and peace bee multiplied vnto you.
