⁴ Neuertheles, I haue somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first loue.

² Goe, and crie in the eares of Ierusalem, saying, Thus sayeth the Lord, I remember thee, with the kindenes of thy youth and the loue of thy marriage, when thou wentest after me in the wildernes in a lande that was not sowen. ³ Israel was as a thing halowed vnto the Lord, and his first fruits: all they that eat it, shall offend: euil shall come vpon them, saith the Lord. ⁴ Heare ye the word of the Lord, O house of Iaakob, and all the families of the house of Israel. ⁵ Thus sayeth the Lord, What iniquitie haue your fathers founde in mee, that they are gone farre from mee, and haue walked after vanitie, and are become vaine?

¹² And because iniquitie shalbe increased, the loue of many shalbe colde. ¹³ But he that endureth to the ende, he shalbe saued.

⁹ And this I pray, that your loue may abound, yet more and more in knowledge, and in all iudgement,

¹³ Brethren, I count not my selfe, that I haue attained to it, but one thing I doe: I forget that which is behinde, and endeuour my selfe vnto that which is before, ¹⁴ And follow hard toward the marke, for the prise of the hie calling of God in Christ Iesus. ¹⁵ Let vs therefore as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if yee be otherwise minded, God shall reueile euen the same vnto you. ¹⁶ Neuerthelesse, in that whereunto wee are come, let vs proceede by one rule, that wee may minde one thing.

⁹ But as touching brotherly loue, ye neede not that I write vnto you: for ye are taught of God to loue one another. ¹⁰ Yea, and that thing verily yee doe vnto all the brethren, which are throughout all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more,

³ We ought to thanke God alwayes for you, brethren, as it is meete, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the loue of euery one of you toward another, aboundeth,

¹⁰ For God is not vnrighteous, that hee should forget your worke, and labour of loue, which ye shewed toward his Name, in that ye haue ministred vnto the Saints, and yet minister. ¹¹ And we desire that euery one of you shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope vnto the ende,

¹⁴ But I haue a fewe things against thee, because thou hast there them that maintaine the doctrine of Balaam, which taught Balac to put a stumbling blocke before ye children of Israel, that they should eate of things sacrificed vnto Idoles, and commit fornication.

²⁰ Notwithstanding, I haue a few things against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Iezabel, which calleth her selfe a prophetesse, to teache and to deceiue my seruants to make them commit fornication, and to eate meates sacrificed vnto idoles.

¹⁴ And vnto the Angell of the Church of the Laodiceans write, These things saieth Amen, the faithfull and true witnesse, that beginning of the creatures of God. ¹⁵ I knowe thy woorkes, that thou art neither colde nor hote: I woulde thou werest colde or hote. ¹⁶ Therefore, because thou art luke warme, and neither colde nor hote, it will come to passe, that I shall spewe thee out of my mouth. ¹⁷ For thou saiest, I am rich and increased with goods, and haue neede of nothing, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, and poore, and blinde, and naked.
