⁵ He that giueth not his money vnto vsurie, nor taketh reward against the innocent: hee that doeth these things, shall neuer be moued.

²⁵ If thou lende money to my people, that is, to the poore with thee, thou shalt not bee as an vsurer vnto him: yee shall not oppresse him with vsurie.

⁷ Thou shalt keepe thee farre from a false matter, and shalt not slaye the innocent and the righteous: for I will not iustifie a wicked man. ⁸ Thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and peruerteth the wordes of the righteous.

³⁵ Moreouer, if thy brother be impouerished, and fallen in decay with thee, thou shalt relieue him, and as a stranger and soiourner, so shall he liue with thee. ³⁶ Thou shalt take no vsurie of him, nor vantage, but thou shalt feare thy God, that thy brother may liue with thee. ³⁷ Thou shalt not giue him thy money to vsurie, nor lende him thy vitailes for increase.

¹⁹ Wrest not thou ye Law, nor respect any person, neither take rewarde: for the reward blindeth ye eyes of the wise, and peruerteth ye worde of ye iust.

¹⁹ Thou shalt not giue to vsurie to thy brother: as vsurie of money, vsurie of meate, vsurie of any thing that is put to vsurie. ²⁰ Vnto a stranger thou mayest lend vpon vsurie, but thou shalt not lend vpon vsurie vnto thy brother, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in all that thou settest thine hand to, in the land whither thou goest to possesse it.

² For there were that said, We, our sonnes and our daughters are many, therefore we take vp corne, that we may eate and liue. ³ And there were that saide, We must gage our landes, and our vineyardes, and our houses, and take vp corne for the famine. ⁴ There were also that said, We haue borowed money for the Kings tribute vpon our landes and our vineyardes. ⁵ And nowe our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, and our sonnes as their sonnes: and lo, we bring into subiection our sonnes and our daughters, as seruants, and there be of our daughters nowe in subiection, and there is no power in our handes: for other men haue our landes and our vineyardes.

⁷ And I thought in my minde, and I rebuked the princes, and the rulers, and saide vnto them, You lay burthens euery one vpon his brethren: and I set a great assemblie against them, ⁸ And I said vnto them, We (according to our abilitie) haue redeemed our brethren the Iewes, which were solde vnto the heathen: and will you sell your brethren againe, or shall they be solde vnto vs? Then helde they their peace, and could not answere. ⁹ I said also, That which ye do, is not good. Ought ye not to walke in the feare of our God, for the reproche of the heathen our enemies? ¹⁰ For euen I, my brethren, and my seruants doe lende them money and corne: I pray you, let vs leaue off this burden. ¹¹ Restore, I pray you, vnto them this day their landes, their vineyardes, their oliues, and their houses, and remit the hundreth part of the siluer and of the corne, of the wine, and of the oyle that ye exact of them. ¹² Then said they, We will restore it, and will not require it of them: we will doe as thou hast said. Then I called the Priestes, and caused them to sweare, that they shoulde doe according to this promise. ¹³ So I shooke my lappe, and said, So let God shake out euery man that wil not perfourme this promise from his house, and from his labour: euen thus let him be shaken out, and emptied. And all the Cogregation said, Amen, and praised the Lord: and the people did according to this promise.

⁸ I haue set the Lord alwayes before me: for hee is at my right hand: therefore I shall not slide.

²² Cast thy burden vpon the Lord, and hee shall nourish thee: he wil not suffer the righteous to fall for euer.

³ Blessed are they that keepe iudgement, and doe righteousnesse at all times.

⁶ Surely he shall neuer be moued: but the righteous shalbe had in euerlasting remembrance.

³ A man cannot be established by wickednesse: but the roote of the righteous shall not be mooued.

¹⁵ Hee that walketh in iustice, and speaketh righteous things, refusing gaine of oppression, shaking his handes from taking of gifts, stopping his eares from hearing of blood, and shutting his eyes from seeing euill.

⁸ And hath not giuen foorth vpon vsurie, neither hath taken any increase, but hath withdrawen his hand from iniquitie, and hath executed true iudgement betweene man and man,

¹⁷ Neither hath withdrawen his hand from the afflicted, nor receiued vsurie nor increase, but hath executed my iudgements, and hath walked in my statutes, he shall not die in the iniquitie of his father, but he shall surely liue.

²⁷ Againe when the wicked turneth away from his wickednes that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawfull and right, he shall saue his soule aliue.

¹² In thee haue they taken giftes to shed blood: thou hast taken vsurie and the encrease, and thou hast defrauded thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.

³ To make good for the euil of their hands, the prince asked, and the iudge iudgeth for a reward: therefore the great man he speaketh out the corruption of his soule: so they wrapt it vp.

²¹ Not euery one that sayeth vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen, but he that doeth my Fathers will which is in heauen. ²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haue we not by thy Name prophecied? and by thy name cast out deuils? and by thy name done many great workes? ²³ And then will I professe to them, I neuer knewe you: depart from me, ye that worke iniquitie. ²⁴ Whosoeuer then heareth of mee these words, and doeth the same, I will liken him to a wise man, which hath builded his house on a rock: ²⁵ And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell not: for it was grounded on a rocke.

¹⁵ And said, What will ye giue me, and I will deliuer him vnto you? and they appoynted vnto him thirtie pieces of siluer.

³ Then when Iudas which betraied him, sawe that hee was condemned, hee repented himselfe, and brought againe the thirtie pieces of siluer to the chiefe Priestes, and Elders, ⁴ Saying, I haue sinned, betraying the innocent bloud. But they sayde, What is that to vs? see thou to it. ⁵ And when hee had cast downe the siluer pieces in the Temple, hee departed, and went, and hanged himselfe.

¹⁷ If ye know these things, blessed are ye, if ye doe them.

²² And be ye doers of the word, and not hearers onely, deceiuing your owne selues. ²³ For if any heare the woorde, and doe it not, he is like vnto a man, that beholdeth his naturall face in a glasse. ²⁴ For when he hath considered himselfe, hee goeth his way, and forgetteth immediately what maner of one he was. ²⁵ But who so looketh in the perfect Lawe of libertie, and continueth therein, hee not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the woorke, shalbe blessed in his deede.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall. ¹¹ For by this meanes an entring shalbe ministred vnto you aboundantly into the euerlasting kingdome of our Lord and Sauiour Iesus Christ.
