¹⁸ The Lord is neere vnto all that call vpon him: yea, to all that call vpon him in trueth.

⁷ For what nation is so great, vnto whome the gods come so neere vnto them, as the Lord our God is neere vnto vs, in all that we call vnto him for?

²⁷ And at noone Eliiah mocked them, and said, Crye loude: for he is a god: either he talketh or pursueth his enemies, or is in his iourney, or it may be that he sleepeth, and must be awaked. ²⁸ And they cryed loude, and cut them selues as their maner was, with kniues and launcers, till the blood gushed out vpon them.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.

¹⁵ And when you shall stretch out your hands, I wil hide mine eyes from you: and though ye make many prayers, I wil not heare: for your hands are full of blood. ¹⁶ Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill.

⁹ Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answere: thou shalt cry and hee shall say, Here I am: if thou take away from the mids of thee the yoke, the putting foorth of the finger, and wicked speaking:

¹² Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you, ¹³ And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.

¹⁴ And they haue not cryed vnto me with their hearts, when they houled vpon their beds: they assembled themselues for corne, and wine, and they rebell against me.

⁵ And when thou prayest, be not as the hypocrites: for they loue to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streetes, because they would be seene of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde. ⁶ But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber and when thou hast shut thy doore, pray vnto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall rewarde thee openly. ⁷ Also when ye pray, vse no vaine repetitions as the Heathen: for they thinke to be heard for their much babbling. ⁸ Be ye not like them therefore: for your Father knoweth whereof ye haue neede, before ye aske of him.

¹³ Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.

²⁴ God is a Spirite, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and trueth.

²³ Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, If any man loue me, he will keepe my worde, and my Father will loue him, and we wil come vnto him, and wil dwell with him.

⁸ Drawe neere to God, and he will drawe neere to you. Clense your handes, ye sinners, and purge your hearts, ye double minded.

²⁰ For if our heart condemne vs, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all things. ²¹ Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue we boldnes toward God. ²² And whatsoeuer we aske we receiue of him, because we keepe his commandements, and do those things which are pleasing in his sight.
