⁵ Vntill I finde out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mightie God of Iaakob.

¹⁷ And when they had brought in the Arke of the Lord, they set it in his place, in the mids of the tabernacle that Dauid had pitched for it: then Dauid offred burnt offrings, and peace offrings before the Lord.

²⁷ Is it true in deede that God will dwell on the earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: howe much more vnable is this house that I haue built?

³ And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.

¹² And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.

⁷ And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,

⁶ Who is he then that can be able to buylde him an house, when the heauen, and the heauen of heauens can not conteine him? who am I then that I should buylde him an house? but I do it to burne incense before him.

¹ Thus saith the Lord, The heauen is my throne, and the earth is my footestoole: where is that house that ye will builde vnto me? and where is that place of my rest?

⁴⁶ Who found fauour before God, and desired that hee might finde a tabernacle for the God of Iacob. ⁴⁷ But Salomon built him an house. ⁴⁸ Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with handes, as saith the Prophet, ⁴⁹ Heauen is my throne, and earth is my footestoole: what house wil ye build for me, saith the Lord? or what place is it that I should rest in?

²² In whom ye also are built together to be the habitation of God by the Spirit.
