¹¹⁰ The wicked haue layed a snare for mee: but I swarued not from thy precepts.

⁸ He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore. ⁹ He lyeth in waite secretly, euen as a lyon in his denne: he lyeth in waite to spoyle the poore: he doeth spoyle the poore, when he draweth him into his net. ¹⁰ He croucheth and boweth: therefore heaps of the poore doe fall by his might. ¹¹ He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth away his face, and will neuer see. ¹² Arise, O Lord God: lift vp thine hande: forget not the poore. ¹³ Wherefore doeth the wicked contemne God? he saith in his heart, Thou wilt not regard. ¹⁴ Yet thou hast seene it: for thou beholdest mischiefe and wrong, that thou mayest take it into thine handes: the poore committeth himselfe vnto thee: for thou art the helper of the fatherlesse. ¹⁵ Breake thou the arme of the wicked and malicious: searche his wickednes, and thou shalt finde none. ¹⁶ The Lord is King for euer and euer: the heathen are destroyed foorth of his land. ¹⁷ Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the poore: thou preparest their heart: thou bendest thine eare to them, ¹⁸ To iudge the fatherlesse and poore, that earthly man cause to feare no more.

¹⁰ With my whole heart haue I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandements.

²¹ Thou hast destroied the proud: cursed are they that doe erre from thy commandements.

⁵¹ The proude haue had me exceedingly in derision: yet haue I not declined from thy Lawe.

⁸⁵ The proude haue digged pittes for mee, which is not after thy Lawe.

⁸⁷ They had almost consumed me vpon the earth: but I forsooke not thy precepts.

⁹⁵ The wicked haue waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

⁶ Praysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth. ⁷ Our soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.

⁹ Keepe me from the snare, which they haue layde for me, and from the grennes of the workers of iniquitie.

¹¹ If they say, Come with vs, we will lay waite for blood, and lie priuilie for the innocent without a cause: ¹² We wil swallow them vp aliue like a graue euen whole, as those that goe downe into the pit:

²² Let the crye bee heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring an hoste suddenly vpon them: for they haue digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feete.

¹⁰ Now when Daniel vnderstood that he had sealed the writing, hee went into his house, and his window being open in his chamber toward Ierusalem, he kneeled vpon his knees three times a day, and prayed and praysed his God, as he did aforetime.

¹⁹ Then the hie Priests, and the Scribes the same houre went about to lay hands on him: (but they feared the people) for they perceiued that he had spoken this parable against them. ²⁰ And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should faine themselues iust men, to take him in his talke, and to deliuer him vnto the power and authoritie of the gouernour. ²¹ And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest, and teachest right, neither doest thou accept mans person, but teachest the way of God truely. ²² Is it lawfull for vs to giue Cesar tribute or no? ²³ But he perceiued their craftines, and sayd vnto them, Why tempt ye me? ²⁴ Shew me a penie. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered, and sayd, Cesars. ²⁵ Then he sayd vnto them, Giue then vnto Cesar the things which are Cesars, and to God those which are Gods. ²⁶ And they could not reproue his saying before the people: but they marueiled at his answere, and helde their peace.
