⁸ He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore.

¹⁸ Then the King sayde to Doeg, Turne thou and fall vpon the Priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and ran vpon the Priestes, and slewe that same daye foure score and fiue persons that did weare a linen Ephod.

²³ See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.

¹⁶ Moreouer Manasseh shed innocent blood exceeding much, till hee replenished Ierusalem from corner to corner, beside his sinne wherwith he made Iudah to sinne, and to doe euill in the sight of the Lord.

¹¹ They haue compassed vs now in our steps: they haue set their eyes to bring downe to the ground:

⁶ They slay the widowe and the stranger, and murder the fatherlesse.

¹¹ If they say, Come with vs, we will lay waite for blood, and lie priuilie for the innocent without a cause: ¹² We wil swallow them vp aliue like a graue euen whole, as those that goe downe into the pit:

¹² The vnthriftie man and the wicked man walketh with a froward mouth. ¹³ He maketh a signe with his eyes: he signifieth with his feete: he instructeth with his fingers.

¹⁷ But thine eyes and thine heart are but only for thy couetousnesse, and for to sheade innocent blood, and for oppression, and for destruction, euen to doe this.

¹⁴ Thou didest strike thorowe with his owne staues the heades of his villages: they came out as a whirle winde to scatter me: their reioycing was as to deuoure the poore secretly.

¹ And it came to passe afterwarde, that hee himselfe went through euery citie and towne, preaching and publishing the kingdome of God, and the twelue were with him,

¹ After these thinges, the Lord appointed other seuentie also, and sent them, two and two before him into euery citie and place, whither he himselfe should come.
