¹² Giue vs helpe against trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.

² I haue oft times heard such things: miserable comforters are ye all.

¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee: ² Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion. ³ Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. Selah: ⁴ And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose: ⁵ That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions. ⁶ Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand. ⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God. ⁸ They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright. ⁹ Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the sonne of man, for there is none helpe in him. ⁴ His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth: then his thoughtes perish. ⁵ Blessed is he, that hath the God of Iaakob for his helpe, whose hope is in the Lord his God.

²² Cease you from the man whose breath is in his nostrels: for wherein is he to be esteemed?

³ But the strength of Pharaoh shalbe your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. ⁴ For his princes were at Zoan, and his Ambassadours came vnto Hanes. ⁵ They shalbe all ashamed of the people that cannot profite them, nor helpe nor doe them good, but shalbe a shame and also a reproche.

³ Now the Egyptians are men, and not God, and their horses flesh and not spirite: and when the Lord shall stretch out his hand, the helper shall fall, and hee that is holpen shall fall, and they shall altogether faile.

⁵ Thus saith the Lord, Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arme, and withdraweth his heart from the Lord. ⁶ For he shall be like the heath in the wildernesse, and shall not see when any good commeth, but shall inhabite the parched places in the wildernesse, in a salt land, and not inhabited. ⁷ Blessed be the man, that trusteth in ye Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. ⁸ For he shall be as a tree that is planted by the water, which spreadeth out her rootes by the riuer, and shall not feele when the heate commeth, but her leafe shall be greene, and shall not care for the yeere of drought, neyther shall cease from yeelding fruit.
