² A foole hath no delite in vnderstanding: but that his heart may be discouered.

¹⁵ And he vttered his parable, and sayd, Balaam the sonne of Beor hath sayde, and the man whose eyes were shut vp, hath sayd, ¹⁶ He hath said that heard the words of God, and hath the knowledge of the most High, and sawe the vision of the Almightie, and falling in a traunce had his eyes opened:

¹ Blessed is the man that doeth not walke in the counsell of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in ye seate of the scornefull: ² But his delite is in the Lawe of the Lord, and in his Lawe doeth he meditate day and night.

⁷ The feare of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fooles despise wisedome and instruction.

²² O ye foolish, howe long will ye loue foolishnes? and the scornefull take their pleasure in scorning, and the fooles hate knowledge?

²³ A wise man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of the fooles publisheth foolishnes.

¹⁶ Euery wise man will worke by knowledge: but a foole will spread abroade folly.

¹⁶ Wherefore is there a price in the hand of the foole to get wisdome, and he hath none heart?

³ And also when the foole goeth by the way, his heart faileth, and he telleth vnto all that he is a foole.

³⁴ And beholde, all ye citie came out to meete Iesus: and when they sawe him, they besought him to depart out of their coastes.

¹ And as touching things sacrificed vnto idols, wee knowe that wee all haue knowledge: knowledge puffeth vp, but loue edifieth.

¹² Euen so, forasmuch as ye couet spirituall giftes, seeke that ye may excell vnto the edifying of the Church.

¹⁵ Which forsaking the right way, haue gone astray, folowing the way of Balaam, the sonne of Bosor, which loued the wages of vnrighteousnes. ¹⁶ But he was rebuked for his iniquitie: for the dumme beast speaking with mans voyce, forbade the foolishnesse of the Prophet. ¹⁷ These are welles without water, and cloudes caried about with a tempest, to whome the blacke darkenes is reserued for euer. ¹⁸ For in speaking swelling wordes of vanitie, they beguile with wantonnesse through the lusts of the flesh them that were cleane escaped from them which are wrapped in errour, ¹⁹ Promising vnto them libertie, and are themselues the seruants of corruption: for of whomsoeuer a man is ouercome, euen vnto the same is he in bondage.
