⁸ A man will giue his riches for the ransome of his life: but the poore cannot heare ye reproch.

³⁰ If there be set to him a summe of mony, then he shall pay the raunsome of his life, whatsoeuer shalbe laied vpon him.

¹⁴ And he caryed away all Ierusalem, and all the princes, and all the strong men of warre, euen ten thousande into captiuitie, and all the workemen, and cunning men: so none remained sauing the poore people of the lande.

¹² But the chiefe steward left of the poore of the land to dresse the vines, and to till the land.

⁴ And Satan answered the Lord, and sayde, Skin for skin, and all that euer a man hath, will he giue for his life.

⁶ They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches. ⁷ Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God, ⁸ (So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer) ⁹ That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue. ¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.

³⁵ He cannot beare the sight of any raunsome: neither will he consent, though thou augment the giftes.

¹⁰ But Nebuzar-adan the chiefe steward left the poore that had nothing in the land of Iudah, and gaue them vineyards and fieldes at the same time.

⁸ But tenne men were founde among them, that saide vnto Ishmael, Slay vs not: for we haue treasures in the fielde, of wheate, and of barley, and of oyle, and of honie: so he stayed, and slew them not among their brethren.

¹² Then will I leaue in the middes of thee an humble and poore people: and they shall trust in the Name of the Lord.
