¹¹ And Moses saide vnto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou vexed thy seruant? and why haue I not found fauour in thy sight, seeing thou hast put the charge of al this people vpon mee?

²² Wherefore Moses returned to the Lord, and saide, Lord, why hast thou afflicted this people? wherefore hast thou thus sent me?

⁴ And Moses cried to the Lord, saying, What shall I do to this people? for they be almost ready to stone me.

¹⁵ Therefore if thou deale thus with mee, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, kill me, that I behold not my miserie.

¹² Howe can I alone beare your combrance and your charge, and your strife?

² I will say vnto God, Condemne mee not: shew me, wherefore thou contendest with mee.

³ If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

² (And enter not into iudgement with thy seruant: for in thy sight shall none that liueth, be iustified)

¹⁰ Wo is mee, my mother, that thou hast borne mee, a contentious man, and a man that striueth with the whole earth I haue neither lent on vsury, nor men haue lent vnto me on vsurie: yet euery one doeth curse me.

¹⁸ Why is mine heauines continuall? and my plague desperate and cannot be healed? why art thou vnto me as a lyar, and as waters that faile?

⁷ O Lord, thou hast deceiued me, and I am deceiued: thou art stronger then I, and hast preuailed: I am in derision daily: euery one mocketh me. ⁸ For since I spake, I cryed out of wrong, and proclaimed desolation: therefore the word of the Lord was made a reproche vnto me, and in derision daily. ⁹ Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speake any more in his Name. But his worde was in mine heart as a burning fire shut vp in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

¹⁴ Cursed be the day wherein I was borne: and let not the day wherein my mother bare me, be blessed. ¹⁵ Cursed be the man, that shewed my father, saying, A man child is borne vnto thee, and comforted him. ¹⁶ And let that man be as the cities, which the Lord hath ouerturned and repented not: and let him heare the cry in the morning, and the showting at noone tide, ¹⁷ Because he hath not slaine me, euen from the wombe, or that my mother might haue bene my graue, or her wobe a perpetual conception. ¹⁸ How is it, that I came forth of the wombe, to see labour and sorowe, that my dayes shoulde be consumed with shame?

²² It is the Lordes mercies that wee are not consumed, because his compassions faile not. ²³ They are renued euery morning: great is thy faithfulnesse.

³⁹ Wherefore then is the liuing man sorowfull? man suffreth for his sinne. ⁴⁰ Let vs search and try our wayes, and turne againe to the Lord.

¹⁴ Ye haue saide, It is in vaine to serue God: and what profite is it that we haue kept his commandement, and that we walked humbly before the Lord of hostes?

²⁸ Beside the thinges which are outwarde, I am combred dayly, and haue the care of all the Churches.
