⁴¹ Watch, and praie, that yee enter not into tentation: the spirit in deede is readie, but the flesh is weake.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those that are vpright in their way, and walke in the Lawe of the Lord.

⁴ Thou hast commanded to keepe thy precepts diligently. ⁵ Oh that my waies were directed to keepe thy statutes!

²⁴ Also thy testimonies are my delite, and my counsellers. ²⁵ DALETH. My soule cleaueth to the dust: quicken me according to thy worde.

³² I will runne the way of thy commandements, when thou shalt enlarge mine heart.

³⁵ Direct mee in the path of thy commandements: for therein is my delite. ³⁶ Incline mine heart vnto thy testimonies, and not to couetousnesse. ³⁷ Turne away mine eies from regarding vanitie, and quicken me in thy way.

¹¹⁵ Away from mee, yee wicked: for I will keepe the commandements of my God.

¹¹⁷ Stay thou mee, and I shall be safe, and I will delite continually in thy statutes.

¹⁴ Enter not into the way of the wicked, and walke not in the way of euill men. ¹⁵ Auoide it, and goe not by it: turne from it, and passe by.

⁸ Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee. ⁹ With my soule haue I desired thee in the night, and with my spirit within mee will I seeke thee in the morning: for seeing thy iudgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learne righteousnesse.

¹³ And leade vs not into tentation, but deliuer vs from euill: for thine is the kingdome, and the power, and the glorie for euer. Amen.

⁴² Watch therefore: for ye knowe not what houre your master will come.

¹³ Watch therfore: for ye know neither the day, nor the houre, when the sonne of man will come.

³⁸ Then sayde Iesus vnto them, My soule is very heauie, euen vnto the death: tarie yee here, and watch with me.

³³ Take heede: watch, and praie: for yee knowe not when the time is. ³⁴ For the Sonne of man is as a man going into a strange countrey, and leaueth his house, and giueth authoritie to his seruaunts, and to euery man his woorke, and commandeth the porter to watch. ³⁵ Watch ye therefore, (for ye know not whe ye master of the house will come, at eue, or at midnight, at the cocke crowing, or in the dawning,) ³⁶ Least if he come suddenly, he should finde you sleeping. ³⁷ And those things that I say vnto you, I say vnto all men, Watch.

¹³ But they that are on the stones, are they which when they haue heard, receiue ye word with ioy: but they haue no rootes: which for a while beleeue, but in the time of tentation goe away.

⁴ And forgiue vs our sinnes: for euen we forgiue euery man that is indetted to vs: And leade vs not into temptation: but deliuer vs from euill.

³⁶ Watche therefore, and pray continually, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these thinges that shall come to passe, and that ye may stand before the Sonne of man.

⁴⁰ And when hee came to the place, hee said to them, Pray, lest ye enter into tentation.

⁴⁶ And he said vnto them, Why sleepe ye? rise and pray, least ye enter into tentation.

¹⁸ For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to wil is preset with me: but I find no meanes to perform that which is good. ¹⁹ For I doe not the good thing, which I would, but the euil, which I would not, that do I. ²⁰ Nowe if I do that I would not, it is no more I that doe it, but the sinne that dwelleth in me. ²¹ I finde then that when I would doe good, I am thus yoked, that euill is present with me. ²² For I delite in the Law of God, concerning the inner man: ²³ But I see another Law in my members, rebelling against the Lawe of my minde, and leading me captiue vnto the lawe of sinne, which is in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am, who shall deliuer me from the body of this death! ²⁵ I thanke God through Iesus Christ our Lord. Then I my selfe in my minde serue the Lawe of God, but in my flesh the lawe of sinne.

³ For (that that was impossible to ye Lawe, in as much as it was weake, because of ye flesh) God sending his owne Sonne, in ye similitude of sinful flesh, and for sinne, condened sinne in the flesh,

²⁷ But I beate downe my body, and bring it into subiection, lest by any meanes after that I haue preached to other, I my selfe should be reproued.

¹³ There hath no tentation taken you, but such as appertaine to man: and God is faithfull, which will not suffer you to be tempted aboue that you be able, but wil euen giue the issue with the tentation, that ye may be able to beare it.

¹³ Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: quite you like men, and be strong.

¹⁶ Then I say, Walke in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lustes of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary one to another, so that ye can not doe the same things that ye would.

²⁴ For they that are Christes, haue crucified the flesh with the affections and the lustes.

¹⁸ And pray alwayes with all maner prayer and supplication in the Spirit: and watch thereunto with all perseuerance and supplication for al Saints,

¹² Not as though I had alreadie attained to it, either were alreadie perfect: but I follow, if that I may comprehend that for whose sake also I am comprehended of Christ Iesus. ¹³ Brethren, I count not my selfe, that I haue attained to it, but one thing I doe: I forget that which is behinde, and endeuour my selfe vnto that which is before, ¹⁴ And follow hard toward the marke, for the prise of the hie calling of God in Christ Iesus.

⁷ Now the ende of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober, and watching in prayer.

⁸ Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:

⁹ The Lord knoweth to deliuer the godly out of tentation, and to reserue the vniust vnto the day of iudgement vnder punishment.

¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the woorde of my patience, therefore I wil deliuer thee from the houre of tentation, which will come vpon all the world, to trie them that dwell vpon the earth.
