³⁵ But the dayes will come, euen when the bridegrome shalbe taken away from them: then shall they fast in those dayes.

¹² And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth.

²⁶ And after threescore and two weekes, shall Messiah be slaine, and shall haue nothing,, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the citie and the Sanctuarie, and the end thereof shalbe with a flood: and vnto the end of the battell it shalbe destroyed by desolations.

⁷ Arise, O sword, vpon my shepheard, and vpon the man, that is my fellow, sayth the Lord of hostes: smite the shepheard, and the sheepe shall be scattered: and I will turne mine hand vpon the litle ones.

¹⁷ But when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face, ¹⁸ That thou seeme not vnto men to fast, but vnto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret, will rewarde thee openly.

²² And he saide vnto the disciples, The dayes will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the dayes of the Sonne of man, and ye shall not see it.

¹⁷ And he sayd vnto them, What maner of communications are these that ye haue one to another as ye walke and are sad? ¹⁸ And the one (named Cleopas) answered, and sayd vnto him, Art thou onely a stranger in Hierusalem, and hast not knowen the things which are come to passe therein in these dayes? ¹⁹ And he said vnto them, What things? And they sayd vnto him, Of Iesus of Nazareth, which was a Prophet, mightie in deede and in word before God, and all people, ²⁰ And howe the hie Priests, and our rulers deliuered him to be condemned to death, and haue crucified him. ²¹ But we trusted that it had bene he that should haue deliuered Israel, and as touching all these things, to day is ye third day, that they were done.

⁸ For the poore alwayes yee haue with you, but me ye shall not haue alwayes.

³³ Litle children, yet a litle while am I with you: ye shall seeke me, but as I sayde vnto the Iewes, Whither I goe, can ye not come: also to you say I nowe,

³ And if I go to prepare a place for you, I wil come againe, and receiue you vnto my selfe, that where I am, there may ye be also. ⁴ And whither I go, ye know, and the way ye knowe.

⁴ But these things haue I tolde you, that when the houre shall come, ye might remember, that I tolde you them. And these things said I not vnto you from ye beginning, because I was with you. ⁵ But now I go my way to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? ⁶ But because I haue saide these thinges vnto you, your hearts are full of sorowe. ⁷ Yet I tell you the trueth, It is expedient for you that I goe away: for if I goe not away, that Comforter will not come vnto you: but if I depart, I will send him vnto you.

¹⁶ A litle while, and ye shall not see me: and againe a litle while, and ye shall see me: for I goe to the Father. ¹⁷ Then said some of his disciples among them selues, What is this that he saieth vnto vs, A litle while, and ye shall not see me, and againe, a litle while, and ye shall see me, and, For I goe to the Father. ¹⁸ They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A litle while? we know not what he sayeth. ¹⁹ Now Iesus knew that they would aske him, and said vnto them, Doe ye enquire among your selues, of that I said, A litle while, and ye shall not see me: and againe, a litle while, and yee shall see me? ²⁰ Verely, verely I say vnto you, that ye shall weepe and lament, and the worlde shall reioyce: and ye shall sorowe, but your sorowe shalbe turned to ioye. ²¹ A woman when she traueileth, hath sorowe, because her houre is come: but assoone as she is deliuered of the childe, she remembreth no more the anguish, for ioy that a man is borne into the world. ²² And ye nowe therefore are in sorowe: but I will see you againe, and your hearts shall reioyce, and your ioy shall no man take from you.

²⁸ I am come out from the Father, and came into the worlde: againe I leaue the worlde, and goe to the Father.

¹¹ And nowe am I no more in the world, but these are in the worlde, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keepe them in thy Name, euen them whome thou hast giuen mee, that they may bee one, as we are. ¹² While I was with them in the worlde, I kept them in thy Name: those that thou gauest me, haue I kept, and none of them is lost, but the childe of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things speake I in the worlde, that they might haue my ioy fulfilled in themselues.

⁹ And when he had spoken these things, while they behelde, he was taken vp: for a cloude tooke him vp out of their sight.

²¹ Whome the heauen must containe vntill the time that all thinges be restored, which God had spoken by the mouth of all his holy Prophets since the world began.

² Nowe as they ministred to the Lord, and fasted, the holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the worke whereunto I haue called them. ³ Then fasted they and prayed, and layde their hands on them, and let them goe.

²³ And when they had ordeined them Elders by election in euery Church, and prayed, and fasted, they commended them to the Lord in whome they beleeued.

⁵ Defraude not one another, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may giue your selues to fasting and praier, and againe come together that Satan tempt you not for your incontinecie.

²⁷ In wearinesse and painefulnesse, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in colde and in nakednesse.
