¹⁷ Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart, but thou shalt plainely rebuke thy neighbour, and suffer him not to sinne.

⁴¹ Therefore Esau hated Iaakob, because of the blessing, wherewith his father blessed him. And Esau thought in his minde, The dayes of mourning for my father will come shortly, then I will slay may brother Iaakob.

⁵ Let the righteous smite me: for that is a benefite: and let him reprooue me, and it shalbe a precious oyle, that shall not breake mine head: for within a while I shall euen pray in their miseries.

⁸ Rebuke not a scorner, least he hate thee: but rebuke a wise man, and he will loue thee.

²⁴ He that hateth, will counterfaite with his lips, but in his heart he layeth vp deceite. ²⁵ Though he speake fauourably, beleeue him not: for there are seuen abominations in his heart. ²⁶ Hatred may be couered by deceite: but the malice thereof shall be discouered in the congregation.

⁵ Open rebuke is better then secret loue. ⁶ The wounds of a louer are faithful, and the kisses of an enemie are pleasant.

¹⁵ Moreouer, if thy brother trespasse against thee, goe and tell him his fault betweene thee and him alone: if he heare thee, thou hast wonne thy brother. ¹⁶ But if he heare thee not, take yet with thee one or two, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses euery worde may be confirmed. ¹⁷ And if he refuse to heare them, tell it vnto the Church: and if he refuse to heare the Church also, let him be vnto thee as an heathen man, and a Publicane.

³ Take heede to your selues: if thy brother trespasse against thee, rebuke him: and if hee repent, forgiue him.

¹¹ And haue no fellowship with ye vnfruitfull works of darknes, but euen reproue them rather.

²⁰ Them that sinne, rebuke openly, that the rest also may feare.

²² Lay handes suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sinnes: keepe thy selfe pure.

² Preach the worde: be instant, in season and out of season: improue, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

¹³ This witnesse is true: wherefore conuince them sharply, that they may be sound in ye faith,

¹⁵ These things speake, and exhort, and conuince with all authoritie. See that no man despise thee.

⁹ He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time.

¹¹ But he that hateth his brother, is in darkenesse, and walketh in darkenesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darkenesse hath blinded his eyes.

¹² Not as Cain which was of that wicked one, and slewe his brother: and wherefore slewe he him? because his owne workes were euill, and his brothers good. ¹³ Marueile not, my brethren, though this world hate you. ¹⁴ We know that we are translated from death vnto life, because we loue the brethren: he that loueth not his brother, abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a manslayer: and ye know that no manslayer hath eternall life abiding in him.

¹⁰ If there come any vnto you, and bring not this doctrine, receiue him not to house, neither bid him, God speede: ¹¹ For he that biddeth him, God speede, is partaker of his euill deedes. Although I had many things to write vnto you, yet I woulde not write with paper and ynke: but I trust to come vnto you, and speake mouth to mouth, that our ioy may be full.
