² Arise, and goe to Nineueh, that great citie, and crye against it: for their wickednesse is come vp before mee.

¹¹ Out of that land came Asshur, and builded Niniueh, and the citie Rehoboth, and Calah:

²⁰ Then the Lord saide, Because the crie of Sodom and Gomorah is great, and because their sinne is exceeding grieuous, ²¹ I will goe downe nowe, and see whether they haue done altogether according to that crie which is come vnto me: and if not, that I may knowe.

³⁶ So Saneherib King of Asshur departed, and went his way, and returned, and dwelt in Nineueh.

⁶ And said, O my God, I am confounded and ashamed, to lift vp mine eyes vnto thee my God: for our iniquities are increased ouer our head, and our trespasse is growen vp vnto the heauen.

¹ Crye aloude, spare not: lift vp thy voyce like a trumpet, and shewe my people their transgression, and to the house of Iaakob, their sinnes.

⁷ But the Lord said vnto me, Say not, I am a childe: for thou shalt goe to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoeuer I command thee, shalt thou speake. ⁸ Be not afraide of their faces: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, saith the Lord. ⁹ Then the Lord stretched out his hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said vnto me, Beholde, I haue put my wordes in thy mouth. ¹⁰ Beholde, this day haue I set thee ouer the nations and ouer the kingdomes to plucke vp, and to roote out, and to destroye and throwe downe, to builde, and to plant.

⁷ Therefore thou shalt speake my words vnto them: but surely they will not heare, neither will they in deede cease: for they are rebellious.

⁵ For thou art not sent to a people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an hard language, but to the house of Israel, ⁶ Not to many people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an harde language, whose wordes thou canst not vnderstand: yet if I should sende thee to them, they would obey thee. ⁷ But the house of Israel will not obey thee: for they will not obey me: yea, all the house of Israel are impudent and stiffe hearted. ⁸ Beholde, I haue made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead harde against their foreheads. ⁹ I haue made thy forehead as the adamant, and harder then the flint: feare them not therefore, neither be afraid at their lookes: for they are a rebellious house.

² Arise, goe vnto Nineueh that great citie, and preach vnto it the preaching, which I bid thee.

¹¹ And shoulde not I spare Nineueh that great citie, wherein are sixe score thousande persons, that cannot discerne betweene their right hand, and their left hand, and also much cattell?

⁸ Yet notwithstanding I am full of power by the Spirite of the Lord, and of iudgement, and of strength to declare vnto Iaakob his transgression, and to Israel his sinne.

¹ The destroyer is come before thy face: keepe the munition: looke to the way: make thy loynes strong: increase thy strength mightily. ² For the Lord hath turned away the glorie of Iaakob, as the glorie of Israel: for the emptiers haue emptied them out, and marred their vine branches. ³ The shield of his mightie men is made red: the valiant men are in skarlet: the charets shalbe as in the fire and flames in the day of his preparation, and the firre trees shall tremble.

¹³ And he wil stretch out his hand against the North, and destroy Asshur, and will make Nineueh desolate, and waste like a wildernesse. ¹⁴ And flockes shall lie in the middes of her, and all the beastes of the nations, and the pelicane, and the owle shall abide in the vpper postes of it: the voyce of birdes shall sing in the windowes, and desolations shalbe vpon the postes: for the cedars are vncouered. ¹⁵ This is the reioycing citie that dwelt carelesse, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she made waste, and the lodging of the beastes! euery one that passeth by her, shall hisse and wagge his hand.

¹⁸ And ye shall be brought to the gouernours and Kings for my sake, in witnes to them, and to the Gentiles.

⁴ Behold, the hire of ye labourers, which haue reaped your fieldes (which is of you kept backe by fraude) cryeth, and the cryes of them which haue reaped, are entred into the eares of the Lord of hostes.

⁵ For her sinnes are come vp into heauen, and God hath remembred her iniquities.
