⁴³ So was there dissension among the people for him.

³⁵ For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in lawe.

⁵¹ Thinke ye that I am come to giue peace on earth? I tell you, nay, but rather debate.

¹² And much murmuring was there of him among the people. Some said, He is a good man: other sayd, Nay: but he deceiueth the people.

¹⁶ Then said some of the Pharises, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath day. Others sayd, Howe can a man that is a sinner, doe such miracles? and there was a dissension among them.

¹⁹ Then there was a dissension againe among the Iewes for these sayings,

⁴ But the multitude of the city was deuided: and some were with the Iewes, and some with the Apostles.

⁷ And when hee had saide this, there was a dissension betweene the Pharises and the Sadduces, so that the multitude was deuided. ⁸ For the Sadduces say that there is no resurrection, neither Angel, nor spirit: but the Pharises confesse both. ⁹ Then there was a great crye: and the Scribes of the Pharises part rose vp, and stroue, saying, Wee finde none euill in this man: but if a spirit or an Angel hath spoken to him, let vs not fight against God. ¹⁰ And when there was a great dissension, the chiefe captaine, fearing lest Paul should haue bene pulled in pieces of them, commanded the souldiers to go downe, and take him from among them, and to bring him into the castel.
