¹⁷ For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ.

¹⁵ I will also put enimitie betweene thee and the woman, and betweene thy seede and her seede. He shall breake thine head, and thou shalt bruise his heele.

¹⁸ And in thy seede shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voyce.

¹ Then God spake all these wordes, saying, ² I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me. ⁴ Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth. ⁵ Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me: ⁶ And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets. ⁷ Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne. ⁸ Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy. ⁹ Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke, ¹⁰ But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. ¹¹ For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. ¹² Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee. ¹³ Thou shalt not kill. ¹⁴ Thou shalt not commit adulterie. ¹⁵ Thou shalt not steale. ¹⁶ Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour. ¹⁷ Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.

⁴⁴ So this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.

¹ Then Moses called all Israiel, and saide vnto them, Heare, O Israel, the ordinances and the lawes which I propose to you this day, that yee may learne them, and take heede to obserue them.

⁴ Moses commanded vs a Lawe for an inheritance of the Congregation of Iaakob.

¹⁰ Mercie and trueth shall meete: righteousnes and peace shall kisse one another.

¹ A Psalme to give instruction, of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing the mercies of the Lord for euer: with my mouth will I declare thy trueth from generation to generation. ² For I said, Mercie shalbe set vp for euer: thy trueth shalt thou stablish in ye very heauens.

³ He hath remembred his mercy and his trueth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth haue seene the saluation of our God.

²⁰ Thou wilt perfourme thy trueth to Iaakob, and mercie to Abraham, as thou hast sworne vnto our fathers in olde time.

⁵⁴ Hee hath vpholden Israel his seruaunt to be mindefull of his mercie ⁵⁵ (As hee hath spoken to our fathers, to wit, to Abraham, and his seede) for euer.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because he hath visited and redeemed his people, ⁶⁹ And hath raised vp the horne of saluation vnto vs, in the house of his seruant Dauid, ⁷⁰ As he spake by ye mouth of his holy Prophets, which were since the world began, saying, ⁷¹ That he would sende vs deliuerance from our enemies, and from the hands of all that hate vs, ⁷² That he might shewe mercie towards our fathers, and remember his holy couenant, ⁷³ And the othe which he sware to our father Abraham. ⁷⁴ Which was, that he would graunt vnto vs, that we being deliuered out of the handes of our enemies, should serue him without feare, ⁷⁵ All the daies of our life, in holinesse and righteousnesse before him. ⁷⁶ And thou, babe, shalt be called the Prophet of the most High: for thou shalt goe before the face of the Lord, to prepare his waies, ⁷⁷ And to giue knowledge of saluation vnto his people, by the remission of their sinnes, ⁷⁸ Through ye tender mercy of our God, wherby the day spring from an hie hath visited vs, ⁷⁹ To giue light to them that sit in darknes, and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feete into the way of peace.

¹⁴ And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.

⁴⁵ Doe not thinke that I will accuse you to my Father: there is one that accuseth you, euen Moses, in whom ye trust.

¹⁹ Did not Moses giue you a Law, and yet none of you keepeth the lawe? Why goe ye about to kill me?

³² And shall know the trueth, and the trueth shall make you free.

²⁹ We know that God spake with Moses: but this man we know not from whence he is.

⁶ Iesus sayd vnto him, I am that Way, and that Trueth, and that Life. No man commeth vnto the Father, but by me.

³⁸ This is he that was in the Congregation, in the wildernes with the Angell, which spake to him in mount Sina, and with our fathers, who receiued the liuely oracles to giue vnto vs.

³⁴ Nowe as concerning that he raised him vp from the dead, no more to returne to corruption, he hath said thus, I wil giue you the holy things of Dauid, which are faithfull. ³⁵ Wherefore hee sayeth also in another place, Thou wilt not suffer thine Holy one to see corruption. ³⁶ Howbeit, Dauid after hee had serued his time by the counsell of God, hee slept, and was laid with his fathers, and sawe corruption. ³⁷ But he whom God raised vp, sawe no corruption. ³⁸ Be it knowen vnto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached vnto you the forgiuenesse of sinnes. ³⁹ And from al things, from which ye could not be iustified by the Law of Moses, by him euery one that beleeueth, is iustified.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many vnto him into his lodging, to whom he expounded testifying the kingdome of God, and persuading them those things that concerne Iesus, both out of the Lawe of Moses, and out of the Prophets, from morning to night.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatsoeuer ye Lawe saieth, it saieth it to them which are vnder ye Law, that euery mouth may bee stopped, and all the world be subiect to the iudgement of God. ²⁰ Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne. ²¹ But nowe is the righteousnesse, of God made manifest without the Lawe, hauing witnes of the Lawe and of the Prophets, ²² To wit, the righteousnesse of God by the faith of Iesus Christ, vnto all, and vpon all that beleeue. ²³ For there is no difference: for all haue sinned, and are depriued of the glorie of God, ²⁴ And are iustified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Iesus, ²⁵ Whom God hath set forth to be a reconciliation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousnes, by the forgiuenesse of the sinnes that are passed, ²⁶ Through the patience of God, to shewe at this time his righteousnesse, that hee might be iust, and a iustifier of him which is of the faith of Iesus.

²⁰ Moreouer the Law entred thereupon that the offence shoulde abound: neuerthelesse, where sinne abounded, there grace abounded much more: ²¹ That as sinne had reigned vnto death, so might grace also reigne by righteousnesse vnto eternall life, through Iesus Christ our Lord.

¹⁴ For sinne shall not haue dominion ouer you: for ye are not vnder ye Lawe, but vnder grace.

⁸ Nowe I say, that Iesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision, for the trueth of God, to confirme the promises made vnto the fathers. ⁹ And let the Gentiles prayse God, for his mercie, as it is written, For this cause I wil confesse thee among the Gentiles, and sing vnto thy Name. ¹⁰ And againe he saith, Reioyce, ye Gentiles with his people. ¹¹ And againe, Prayse the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and laude ye him, all people together. ¹² And againe Esaias sayth, There shall be a roote of Iesse, and hee that shall rise to reigne ouer the Gentiles, in him shall the Gentiles trust.

²⁰ For all the promises of God in him are Yea, and are in him Amen, vnto the glorie of God through vs.

⁷ If then the ministration of death written with letters and ingrauen in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel coulde not beholde the face of Moses, for the glorie of his countenance (which glorie is done away.) ⁸ Howe shall not the ministration of the Spirite be more glorious? ⁹ For if the ministerie of condemnation was glorious, much more doeth the ministration of righteousnesse exceede in glorie. ¹⁰ For euen that which was glorified, was not glorified in this point, that is, as touching the exceeding glorie.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the workes of the Lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery man that continueth not in all things, which are written in the booke of the Law, to doe them. ¹¹ And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith. ¹² And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed vs from the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree)

¹⁷ And this I say, that the couenant that was confirmed afore of God in respect of Christ, the Lawe which was foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres after, can not disanull, that it shoulde make the promise of none effect.

⁵ Now Moses verely was faithfull in all his house, as a seruant, for a witnesse of the thinges which should be spoken after. ⁶ But Christ is as the Sonne, ouer his owne house, whose house we are, if we holde fast that confidence and that reioycing of that hope vnto the ende.

⁸ For in rebuking them he saith, Beholde, the dayes will come, saith the Lord, when I shall make with the house of Israel, and with the house of Iuda a newe Testament: ⁹ Not like the Testament that I made with their fathers, in the day that I tooke them by the hand, to leade them out of the land of Egypt: for they continued not in my Testament, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the Testament that I will make with the house of Israel, After those dayes, saith the Lord, I will put my Lawes in their minde, and in their heart I will write them, and I wil be their God, and they shalbe my people, ¹¹ And they shall not teache euery man his neighbour and euery man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall knowe me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. ¹² For I will bee mercifull to their vnrighteousnes, and I wil remember their sinnes and their iniquities no more.

²² And almost all things are by the Law purged with blood, and without sheading of blood is no remission.

⁴ For it is vnpossible that the blood of bulles and goates should take away sinnes. ⁵ Wherefore when he commeth into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offring thou wouldest not: but a body hast thou ordeined me. ⁶ In burnt offerings, and sinne offrings thou hast had no pleasure. ⁷ Then I sayd, Lo, I come (In the beginning of the booke it is written of me) that I should doe thy will, O God. ⁸ Aboue, when he sayd, Sacrifice and offring, and burnt offrings, and sinne offrings thou wouldest not haue, neither hadst pleasure therein (which are offered by the Lawe) ⁹ Then sayd he, Lo, I come to doe thy wil, O God, he taketh away the first, that he may stablish the second. ¹⁰ By the which wil we are sanctified, euen by the offring of the body of Iesus Christ once made.

³⁹ And these all through faith obteined good report, and receiued not the promise, ⁴⁰ God prouiding a better thing for vs, that they without vs should not be made perfite.

⁸ And when he had taken ye Booke, ye foure beasts and the foure and twenty Elders fel downe before the Lambe, hauing euery one harps and golden vials full of odours, which are the praiers of the Saintes, ⁹ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthie to take the Booke, and to open the seales thereof, because thou wast killed, and hast redeemed vs to God by thy blood out of euery kinred, and tongue, and people, and nation, ¹⁰ And hast made vs vnto our God Kings and Priests, and we shall reigne on the earth.

⁹ After these thinges I behelde, and loe a great multitude, which no man coulde number, of all nations and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stoode before the throne, and before the Lambe, clothed with long white robes, and palmes in their hands. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, Saluation commeth of our God, that sitteth vpon the throne, and of the Lambe. ¹¹ And all the Angels stoode rounde about the throne, and about the Elders, and the foure beastes, and they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, ¹² Saying, Amen. Praise, and glorie, and wisdom, and thankes, and honour, and power, and might bee vnto our God for euermore, Amen. ¹³ And one of the Elders spake, saying vnto me, What are these which are araied in log white robes? and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I saide vnto him, Lord, thou knowest. And he saide to me, These are they, which came out of great tribulation, and haue washed their long robes, and haue made their long robes white in the blood of the Lambe. ¹⁵ Therefore are they in the presence of the throne of God, and serue him day and night in his Temple, and he that sitteth on the throne, wil dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sunne light on them, neither any heate. ¹⁷ For the Lambe, which is in the middes of the throne, shall gouerne them, and shall leade them vnto the liuely fountaines of waters, and God shall wipe away all teares from their eyes.
