¹ Howe should not the times be hid from the Almightie, seeing that they which knowe him, see not his dayes?

⁴ For seuen dayes hence I will cause it raine vpon the earth fourtie dayes and fourtie nightes, and all the substance that I haue made, will I destroy from off the earth.

¹⁷ And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I doe,

²⁰ Then the Lord saide, Because the crie of Sodom and Gomorah is great, and because their sinne is exceeding grieuous, ²¹ I will goe downe nowe, and see whether they haue done altogether according to that crie which is come vnto me: and if not, that I may knowe.

¹⁰ And they that know thy Name, will trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not failed them that seeke thee.

¹⁵ My times are in thine hande: deliuer mee from the hande of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

¹⁰ Extend thy louing kindnes vnto them that knowe thee, and thy righteousnesse vnto them that are vpright in heart.

¹⁶ Then thought I to know this, but it was too painefull for me, ¹⁷ Vntill I went into the Sanctuarie of God: then vnderstoode I their ende. ¹⁸ Surely thou hast set them in slipperie places, and castest them downe into desolation. ¹⁹ How suddenly are they destroyed, perished and horribly consumed,

¹⁷ I thought in mine heart, God wil iudge the iust and the wicked: for time is there for euery purpose and for euery worke.

⁶ For to euery purpose there is a time and iudgement, because the miserie of man is great vpon him. ⁷ For he knoweth not that which shalbe: for who can tell him when it shalbe?

¹¹ I returned, and I sawe vnder the sunne that the race is not to the swift, nor the battell to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor also riches to men of vnderstanding, neither yet fauour to men of knowledge: but time and chance commeth to them all. ¹² For neither doth man knowe his time, but as the fishes which are taken in an euill net, and as the birdes that are caught in the snare: so are the children of men snared in the euill time when it falleth vpon them suddenly.

¹² For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe.

²² A litle one shall become as a thousande, and a small one as a strong nation: I the Lord wil hasten it in due time.

¹ O Lord, if I dispute with thee, thou art righteous: yet let mee talke with thee of thy iudgements: wherefore doeth the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they in wealth that rebelliously transgresse? ² Thou hast planted them, and they haue taken roote: they grow, and bring forth fruite: thou art neere in their mouth, and farre from their reines. ³ But thou, Lord, knowest me: thou hast seene me, and tried mine heart towarde thee: pull them out like sheepe for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

¹⁰ For this is the day of ye Lord God of hostes, and a day of vengeance, that he may auenge him of his enemies: for the sworde shall deuoure, and it shall be saciate, and made drunke with their blood: for the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice in the North countrey by the Riuer Perath.

²¹ And hee changeth the times and seasons: he taketh away kings: he setteth vp kings: he giueth wisedome vnto the wise, and vnderstanding to those that vnderstand.

³⁸ For as in the dayes before the flood, they did eate and drinke, marrie, and giue in mariage, vnto the day that Noe entred into the Arke,

²² For these be the dayes of vengeance, to fulfill all things that are written. ²³ But woe be to them that be with childe, and to them that giue sucke in those dayes: for there shalbe great distresse in this land, and wrath ouer this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall on the edge of the sword, and shalbe led captiue into all nations, and Hierusalem shalbe troden vnder foote of the Gentiles, vntill the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

³ And this is life eternall, that they knowe thee to be the onely very God, and whom thou hast sent, Iesus Christ.

⁷ And hee saide vnto them, It is not for you to know the times, or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his owne power,

²⁶ And hath made of one blood all mankinde, to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath assigned the seasons which were ordeined before, and the boundes of their habitation,

⁵ But thou, after thine hardnesse, and heart that canot repent, heapest vp as a treasure vnto thy selfe wrath against the day of wrath, and of the declaration of the iust iudgement of God,

¹ Bvt of the times and seasons, brethren, yee haue no neede that I write vnto you.

¹ Now the Spirit speaketh euidently, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, and shall giue heede vnto spirits of errour, and doctrines of deuils,

¹⁵ Which in due time hee shall shewe, that is blessed and Prince onely, the King of Kings and Lord of Lordes,

³ And through couetousnes shall they with fained words make marchandise of you, whose condemnation long since resteth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.

⁷ But the heauens and earth, which are nowe, are kept by the same word in store, and reserued vnto fire against the day of condemnation, and of the destruction of vngodly men. ⁸ Dearely beloued, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord, as a thousande yeeres, and a thousande yeeres as one day.
