⁸ Be thou instructed, O Ierusalem, lest my soule depart from thee, lest I make thee desolate as a land, that none inhabiteth.

³⁴ Then shall the land inioy her Sabbaths, as long as it lieth voide, and yee shalbe in your enemies land: then shall the land rest, and enioy her Sabbaths.

²⁹ Oh that they were wise, then they would vnderstand this: they would consider their latter ende.

¹⁰ Be wise nowe therefore, ye Kings: be learned ye Iudges of the earth.

¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?

¹² Blessed is the man, whom thou chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Lawe,

¹³ Take holde of instruction, and leaue not: keepe her, for shee is thy life.

¹⁵ The lions roared vpon him and yelled, and they haue made his land waste: his cities are burnt without an inhabitant.

¹⁴ O Ierusalem, wash thine heart from wickednes, that thou maiest be saued: how long shall thy wicked thoughtes remaine within thee?

³ Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Amend your waies and your woorkes, and I will let you dwell in this place. ⁴ Trust not in lying woordes, saying, The Temple of the Lord, the Temple of the Lord: this is the Temple of the Lord. ⁵ For if you amende and redresse your waies and your woorkes: if you execute iudgement betweene a man and his neighbour, ⁶ And oppresse not the stranger, the fatherlesse and the widow and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walke after other gods to your destruction, ⁷ Then will I let you dwell in this place in the lande that I gaue vnto your fathers, for euer and euer.

²⁰ Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, mine anger and my wrath shall be powred vpon this place, vpon man and vpon beast, and vpon the tree of the fielde, and vpon the fruite of the grounde, and it shall burne and not bee quenched.

³⁴ Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Iudah and from the streetes of Ierusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladnesse, the voice of the bridegrom and the voice of the bride: for the lande shalbe desolate.

¹¹ And I wil make Ierusalem an heape, and a den of dragons, and I will make the cities of Iudah waste, without an inhabitant.

²³ But they obeied not, neither inclined their eares, but made their neckes stiffe and would not heare, nor receiue correction.

¹⁹ Surely after that I conuerted, I repented: and after that I was instructed, I smote vpon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, euen confounded, because I did beare the reproch of my youth.

³³ And they haue turned vnto me the backe and not the face: though I taught them rising vp earely, and instructing them, yet they were not obedient to receiue doctrine,

¹³ Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Goe, and tell the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem, Will ye not receiue doctrine to obey my wordes, saith the Lord? ¹⁴ The commandement of Ionadab the sonne of Rechab that hee commanded his sonnes, that they should drinke no wine, is surely kept: for vnto this day they drinke none, but obey their fathers commandement: notwithstanding I haue spoken vnto you, rising earely, and speaking, but ye would not obey me. ¹⁵ I haue sent also vnto you all my seruants the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending, them, saying, Returne nowe euery man from his euill way, and amende your workes, and goe not after other gods to serue them, and ye shall dwel in the lande which I haue giuen vnto you, and to your fathers, but ye would not encline your eare, nor obey mee.

¹⁸ So she discouered her fornication, and disclosed her shame: then mine heart forsooke her, like as mine heart had forsaken her sister.

¹² Though they bring vp their children, yet I will depriue them from being men: yea, woe to them, when I depart from them.

⁷ I said, Surely thou wilt feare me: thou wilt receiue instruction: so their dwelling shoulde not be destroyed howsoeuer I visited them, but they rose earely and corrupted all their workes.

⁸ Three shepherdes also I cut off in one moneth, and my soule lothed them, and their soule abhorred me. ⁹ Then said I, I will not feede you: that that dyeth, let it dye: and that that perisheth, let it perish: and let the remnant eate, euery one the flesh of his neighbour.
