³⁹ In their heate I will make them feastes, and I wil make them drunken, that they may reioyce, and sleepe a perpetual sleepe, and not wake, sayth the Lord.

³ Beholde, and heare mee, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, that I sleepe not in death:

⁵ The stout hearted are spoyled: they haue slept their sleepe, and all the men of strength haue not found their hands. ⁶ At thy rebuke, O God of Iaakob, both the chariot and horse are cast a sleepe.

⁴ Mine heart failed: fearefulnesse troubled me: the night of my pleasures hath he turned into feare vnto me. ⁵ Prepare thou the table: watch in the watch towre: eate, drinke: arise, ye princes, anoynt the shielde.

¹² And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth. ¹³ And beholde, ioy and gladnes, slaying oxen and killing sheepe, eating flesh, and drinking wine, eating and drinking: for to morowe we shall die. ¹⁴ And it was declared in ye eares of the Lord of hostes. ²⁷ Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Drinke and bee drunken, and spewe and fall, and rise no more, because of the sworde, which I will sende among you.

²⁶ Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himselfe against the Lord: Moab shall wallowe in his vomite, and he also shalbe in derision.

¹ King Belshazzar made a great feast to a thousand of his princes, and dranke wine before the thousand. ² And Belshazzar whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring him the golden and siluer vessels, which his father Nebuchad-nezzar had brought from the Temple in Ierusalem, that the King and his princes, his wiues, and his concubines might drinke therein. ³ Then were brought the golden vessels, that were taken out of the Temple of the Lords house at Ierusalem, and the King and his princes, his wiues and his concubines dranke in them. ⁴ They drunke wine and praysed the gods of golde, and of siluer, of brasse, of yron, of wood and of stone.

¹⁰ For he shall come as vnto thornes folden one in another, and as vnto drunkards in their drunkennesse: they shall be deuoured as stubble fully dryed.

¹¹ Also thou shalt bee drunken: thou shalt hide thy selfe, and shalt seeke helpe because of the enemie.
