²⁷ Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?

³ Who gathered themselues together against Moses, and against Aaron, and sayde vnto them, Ye take too much vpon you, seeing all the Congregation is holie, euery one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherfore then lift ye your selues aboue the Congregation of the Lord?

¹⁶ And as he talked with him, he said vnto him, Haue they made thee the Kings counseler? cease thou: why should they smite thee? And the Prophet ceased, but said, I knowe that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not obeyed my counsell.

²⁶ The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.

For this man doeth many miracles. ⁴⁸ If we let him thus alone, all men will beleeue in him, and the Romanes will come and take away both our place, and the nation. ⁴⁹ Then one of them named Caiaphas, which was the hie Priest that same yere, said vnto them, Ye perceiue nothing at all, ⁵⁰ Nor yet doe you consider that it is expedient for vs, that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. ⁵¹ This spake hee not of himselfe: but being hie Priest that same yere, he prophecied that Iesus should die for that nation: ⁵² And not for that nation onely, but that he shoulde gather together in one the children of God, which were scattered. ⁵³ Then from that day foorth they consulted together, to put him to death.

¹⁷ But that it be noysed no farther among the people, let vs threaten and charge them, that they speake hencefoorth to no man in this Name. ¹⁸ So they called them, and commanded them, that in no wise they should speake or teach in the Name of Iesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and Iohn answered vnto them, and said, Whether it be right in the sight of God, to obey you rather then God, iudge ye. ²⁰ For we cannot but speake the things which we haue seene and heard. ²¹ So they threatened them, and let them goe, and found nothing how to punish them, because of the people: for all men praised God for that which was done.

²⁸ Saying, Did not we straightly commaund you, that ye should not teach in this Name? and behold, ye haue filled Hierusale with your doctrine, and ye would bring this mans blood vpon vs.

⁴⁰ And to him they agreed, and called the Apostles: and when they had beaten them, they commanded that they should not speake in the Name of Iesus, and let them goe.

⁸ And as Iannes and Iambres withstoode Moses, so doe these also resist the trueth, men of corrupt mindes, reprobate concerning the faith.
