⁹ By this therefore shall the iniquitie of Iaakob be purged, and this is all the fruit, the taking away of his sinne: whe he shall make all the stones of the altars, as chalke stones broken in pieces, that the groues and images may not stand vp.

¹³ But yee shall ouerthrowe their altars, and breake their images in pieces, and cut downe their groues,

⁹ And burnt the house of the Lord, and the Kings house, and all the houses of Ierusalem, and all the great houses burnt he with fire.

¹³ Also the pillars of brasse that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the brasen Sea that was in the house of the Lord, did the Caldees breake, and caried the brasse of them to Babel. ¹⁴ The pots also and the besomes, and the instruments of musike, and the incense dishes, and al the vessels of brasse that they ministred in, tooke they away. ¹⁵ And the asshe pannes, and the basens, and all that was of gold, and that was of siluer, tooke the chiefe steward away, ¹⁶ With the two pillars, one Sea and the bases, which Salomon had made for the house of the Lord: the brasse of all these vessels was without weight. ¹⁷ The height of the one pillar was eighteene cubits, and the chapiter thereon was brasse, and the height of the chapiter was with networke three cubites, and pomegranates vpon the chapiter rounde about, all of brasse: and likewise was the second pillar with the networke.

⁵ And he tooke away out of all the cities of Iudah the hie places, and the images: therefore the kingdome was quiet before him.

⁴ And they brake downe in his sight the altars of Baalim, and hee caused to cut downe the images that were on hie vpon them: he brake also the groues, and the carued images, and the molten images, and stampt them to pouder, and strowed it vpon the graues of them that had sacrificed vnto them.

¹⁹ And they burnt the house of God, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and all the precious vessels thereof, to destroy all.

² Then stoode vp Ieshua rhe sonne of Iozadak, and his brethren the Priests, and Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in ye Lawe of Moses the man of God, ³ And they set the altar vpon his bases (for feare was among them, because of the people of those countreis) therefore they offered burnt offrings thereon vnto the Lord, euen burnt offrings in the morning, and at euen.

⁶⁷ Before I was afflicted, I went astray: but nowe I keepe thy woorde.

⁷¹ It is good for me that I haue beene afflicted, that I may learne thy statutes.

³⁰ The blewnes of the wound serueth to purge the euill, and the stripes within the bowels of the belly.

²⁴ Therefore sayth the Lord God of hostes, the mightie one of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine aduersaries, and auenge me of mine enemies. ²⁵ Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne.

²⁹ For they shalbe confounded for the okes, which ye haue desired, and ye shall be ashamed of the gardens, that ye haue chosen.

¹² For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe. ¹³ Euen vpon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are hie and exalted, and vpon all the okes of Bashan, ¹⁴ And vpon all the hie mountaines, and vpon all the hilles that are lifted vp, ¹⁵ And vpon euery hie tower, and vpon euery strong wall, ¹⁶ And vpon all the shippes of Tarshish, and vpon all pleasant pictures. ¹⁷ And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day. ¹⁸ And the idoles will he vtterly destroy. ¹⁹ Then they shall goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the caues of the earth, from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall arise to destroy the earth. ²⁰ At that day shall man cast away his siluer idoles, and his golden idoles (which they had made themselues to worship them) to the mowles and to the backes, ²¹ To goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the toppes of the ragged rockes from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall rise to destroy the earth.

⁴ When the Lord shall wash the filthines of the daughters of Zion, and purge the blood of Ierusalem out of the middes thereof by the spirite of iudgement, and by the spirit of burning.

⁸ And hee shall not looke to the altars, the workes of his owne hands, neither shall he looke to those thinges, which his owne fingers haue made, as groues and images.

¹⁰ Behold, I haue fined thee, but not as siluer: I haue chosen thee in the fornace of affliction.

¹⁸ And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the idoles thereof, and all the abominations thereof from thence.

³⁸ And I wil chuse out from among you the rebels, and them that transgresse against mee: I will bring them out of the land where they dwel, and they shall not enter into the lande of Israel, and you shall knowe that I am the Lord.

¹¹ Then set it emptie vpon the coles thereof, that the brasse of it may be hot, and may burne, and that the filthinesse of it may be molten in it, and that the skomme of it may be consumed. ¹² She hath wearied her selfe with lyes, and her great skomme went not out of her: therefore her skomme shall be consumed with fire. ¹³ Thou remainest in thy filthines and wickednes: because I would haue purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthines, till I haue caused my wrath to light vpon thee. ¹⁴ I the Lord haue spoken it: it shall come to passe, and I will doe it: I will not goe backe, neither will I spare, neither will I repent: according to thy wayes, and according to thy workes shall they iudge thee, sayeth the Lord God.

³⁵ And some of the of vnderstanding shall fall to trie them, and to purge, and to make them white, till the time be out: for there is a time appointed.

⁸ They that dwel vnder his shadow, shall returne: they shall reuiue as the corne, and florish as the vine: the sent thereof shalbe as the wine of Lebanon.

¹³ Thine idoles also will I cut off, and thine images out of the middes of thee: and thou shalt no more worship the woorke of thine hands. ¹⁴ And I wil plucke vp thy groues out of the middes of thee: so will I destroy thine enemies.

² And in that day, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will cut off the names of the idoles out of the land: and they shall no more be remembred: and I will cause the prophets, and the vncleane spirit to depart out of the land.

² But who may abide the day of his comming? and who shall endure, when he appeareth? for he is like a purging fire, and like fullers sope. ³ And he shall sit downe to trye and fine the siluer: he shall euen fine the sonnes of Leui and purifie them as golde and siluer, that they may bring offerings vnto the Lord in righteousnesse.

²⁷ And this is my couenant to them, When I shall take away their sinnes.

³² But when we are iudged, we are chastened of the Lord, because we should not be condemned with the world.

⁶ For whom the Lord loueth, he chasteneth: and he scourgeth euery sonne that he receiueth:

⁹ Moreouer we haue had the fathers of our bodies which corrected vs, and we gaue them reuerence: should we not much rather be in subiection vnto the father of spirites, that we might liue? ¹⁰ For they verely for a few dayes chastened vs after their owne pleasure: but he chasteneth vs for our profite, that we might be partakers of his holinesse. ¹¹ Now no chastising for the present seemeth to be ioyous, but, grieuous: but afterwarde, it bringeth the quiet fruite of righteousnesse, vnto them which are thereby exercised.
