¹⁵ Though I haue boud and strengthened their arme, yet doe they imagine mischiefe against me.

¹⁷ Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.

¹ Why doe the heathen rage, and the people murmure in vaine?

³ How long wil ye imagine mischiefe against a man? ye shalbe all slaine: ye shalbe as a bowed wall, or as a wall shaken.

¹² Blessed is the man, whom thou chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Lawe,

⁴³ Many a time did hee deliuer them, but they prouoked him by their counsels: therefore they were brought downe by their iniquitie. ⁴⁴ Yet hee sawe when they were in affliction, and he heard their crie. ⁴⁵ And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,

¹¹ My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.

⁹ The heart is deceitfull and wicked aboue all things, who can knowe it?

⁹ What doe ye imagine against the Lord? he wil make an vtter destruction: affliction shall not rise vp the seconde time.

²⁵ Which by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people imagine vaine things?

²¹ Because that when they knewe God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their thoughtes, and their foolish heart was full of darkenesse.

⁵ Casting downe the imaginations, and euery high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captiuitie euery thought to the obedience of Christ,

⁵ And ye haue forgotten the consolation, which speaketh vnto you as vnto children, My sonne, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither faint when thou art rebuked of him.

¹⁹ As many as I loue, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and amend.
