⁹ And hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my iudgements to deale truely, he is iust, he shall surely liue, sayth the Lord God.

⁵ Ye shall keepe therefore my statutes, and my iudgements, which if a man doe, he shall then liue in them: I am the Lord.

¹ Nowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the ordinances and to the lawes which I teache you to doe, that ye may liue and goe in, and possesse the lande, which the Lord God of your fathers giueth you.

¹ Then Moses called all Israiel, and saide vnto them, Heare, O Israel, the ordinances and the lawes which I propose to you this day, that yee may learne them, and take heede to obserue them.

¹ These now are the commandements, ordinances, and lawes, which the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that ye might doe them in the land whither ye go to possesse it: ² That thou mightest feare the Lord thy God, and keepe all his ordinances, and his commandements which I commaund thee, thou, and thy sonne, and thy sonnes sonne all the dayes of thy life, euen that thy dayes may be prolonged.

¹² And nowe, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to feare the Lord thy God, to walke in all his wayes, and to loue him, and to serue the Lord thy God, with all thine heart, and with all thy soule? ¹³ That thou keepe the commandements of the Lord, and his ordinances, which I commaund thee this day, for thy wealth?

¹ Therefore thou shalt loue the Lord thy God, and shalt keepe that, which he commandeth to be kept: that is, his ordinances, and his lawes, and his commandements alway.

¹³ Thou camest downe also vpon mount Sinai, and spakest vnto them from heauen, and gauest them right iudgements, and true lawes, ordinances and good commandements, ¹⁴ And declaredst vnto them thine holy Sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, and ordinances, and lawes, by the hande of Moses thy seruant:

⁷ The Lawe of the Lord is perfite, conuerting the soule: the testimonie of the Lord is sure, and giueth wisedome vnto the simple. ⁸ The statutes of the Lord are right and reioyce the heart: the commandement of the Lord is pure, and giueth light vnto the eyes. ⁹ The feare of the Lord is cleane, and indureth for euer: the iudgements of the Lord are trueth: they are righteous altogether, ¹⁰ And more to be desired then golde, yea, then much fine golde: sweeter also then honie and the honie combe. ¹¹ Moreouer by them is thy seruant made circumspect, and in keeping of them there is great reward.

⁴ Euen he that hath innocent handes, and a pure heart: which hath not lift vp his minde vnto vanitie, nor sworne deceitfully. ⁵ He shall receiue a blessing from the Lord, and righteousnesse from the God of his saluation. ⁶ This is the generation of them that seeke him, of them that seeke thy face, this is Iaakob. Selah.

⁴⁴ And gaue them the lands of the heathen, and they tooke the labours of the people in possession, ⁴⁵ That they might keepe his statutes, and obserue his Lawes. Prayse ye the Lord.

¹ ALEPH. Blessed are those that are vpright in their way, and walke in the Lawe of the Lord. ² Blessed are they that keepe his testimonies, and seeke him with their whole heart. ³ Surely they woorke none iniquitie, but walke in his waies. ⁴ Thou hast commanded to keepe thy precepts diligently. ⁵ Oh that my waies were directed to keepe thy statutes! ⁶ Then should I not be confounded, when I haue respect vnto all thy commandements.

¹⁷ Neither hath withdrawen his hand from the afflicted, nor receiued vsurie nor increase, but hath executed my iudgements, and hath walked in my statutes, he shall not die in the iniquitie of his father, but he shall surely liue.

¹¹ And I gaue them my statutes, and declared my iudgements vnto them, which if a man doe, he shall liue in them.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wildernes: they walked not in my statutes, and they cast away my iudgements, which if a man doe, he shall liue in them, and my Sabbaths haue they greatly polluted: then I thought to powre out mine indignation vpon them in the wildernes to consume them,

¹⁵ To wit, if the wicked restore the pledge, and giue againe that he had robbed, and walke in the statutes of life, without committing iniquitie, he shall surely liue, and not die.

²⁷ And I will put my spirite within you, and cause you to walke in my statutes, and ye shall keepe my iudgements and do them.

²⁴ And Dauid my seruant shalbe king ouer them, and they all shall haue one shepheard: they shall also walke in my iudgements, and obserue my statutes, and doe them.

⁴ For thus saith the Lord vnto the house of Israel, Seeke ye me, and ye shall liue.

¹⁴ Seeke good and not euil, that ye may liue: and the Lord God of hostes shalbe with you, as you haue spoken.

²⁴ And let iudgement runne downe as waters, and righteousnesse as a mightie riuer.

⁴ Beholde, he that lifteth vp himselfe, his minde is not vpright in him, but the iust shall liue by his fayth,

⁶ Both were iust before God, and walked in all the commandements and ordinances of the Lord, without reproofe.

²⁷ And he answered, and saide, Thou shalt loue thy Lord God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy thought, and thy neighbour as thy selfe. ²⁸ Then he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this doe, and thou shalt liue. ²⁹ But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, Who is then my neighbour?

²¹ He that hath my commandements, and keepeth them, is he that loueth me: and he that loueth me, shall be loued of my Father: and I will loue him, and wil shewe mine owne selfe to him.

¹⁶ And herein I endeuour my selfe to haue alway a cleare conscience towarde God, and toward men.

¹⁷ For by it the righteousnesse of God is reueiled from faith to faith: as it is written, The iust shall liue by faith.

²² And be ye doers of the word, and not hearers onely, deceiuing your owne selues. ²³ For if any heare the woorde, and doe it not, he is like vnto a man, that beholdeth his naturall face in a glasse. ²⁴ For when he hath considered himselfe, hee goeth his way, and forgetteth immediately what maner of one he was. ²⁵ But who so looketh in the perfect Lawe of libertie, and continueth therein, hee not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the woorke, shalbe blessed in his deede.

¹⁸ But some man might say, Thou hast the faith, and I haue woorkes: shewe me thy faith out of thy woorkes, and I will shewe thee my faith by my woorkes. ¹⁹ Thou beleeuest that there is one God: thou doest well: the deuils also beleeue it, and tremble. ²⁰ But wilt thou vnderstand, O thou vaine man, that the faith which is without workes, is dead? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father iustified through workes, when he offred Isaac his sonne vpon the altar? ²² Seest thou not that the faith wrought with his workes? and through the workes was the faith made perfect. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which sayeth, Abraham beleeued God, and it was imputed vnto him for righteousnesse: and hee was called the friende of God. ²⁴ Ye see then howe that of workes a man is iustified, and not of faith onely. ²⁵ Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot iustified through workes, when she had receiued ye messengers, and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body without ye spirit is dead, euen so the faith without workes is dead.

²⁹ If ye know that he is righteous, know ye that he which doeth righteously, is borne of him.

⁷ Litle children, let no man deceiue you: he that doeth righteousnes, is righteous, as hee is righteous.
