⁵ Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters, according to the flesh, with feare and trembling in singlenesse of your hearts as vnto Christ,

⁹ Then the Angel of the Lord saide to her, Returne to thy dame, and humble thy selfe vnder her hands.

¹⁴ Nowe therefore feare the Lord, and serue him in vprightnesse and in trueth, and put away the gods, which your fathers serued beyonde the flood and in Egypt, and serue the Lord.

¹⁷ I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O Lord, and I will walke in thy trueth: knit mine heart vnto thee, that I may feare thy Name.

² Behold, as the eyes of seruants looke vnto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a mayden vnto the hand of her mistres: so our eyes waite vpon the Lord our God vntil he haue mercie vpon vs.

⁶ A sonne honoureth his father, and a seruant his master. If then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my feare, sayth the Lord of hostes vnto you, O Priestes, that despise my Name? and yee say, Wherein haue we despised thy Name?

²² The light of the body is the eye: if then thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be light.

²⁴ No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.

⁹ For I am a man also vnder the authoritie of an other, and haue souldiers vnder me: and I say to one, Goe, and he goeth: and to another, Come, and he commeth: and to my seruant, Doe this, and he doeth it.

⁴⁶ And they continued dayly with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread at home, did eate their meate together with gladnesse and singlenesse of heart,

⁷ And when the Angel which spake vnto Cornelius, was departed, he called two of his seruants, and a souldier that feared God, one of them that waited on him, ⁸ And tolde them all things, and sent them to Ioppa.

³ And I was among you in weakenesse, and in feare, and in much trembling.

²² For he that is called in the Lord, being. a seruant, is the Lords freeman: likewise also he that is called being free, is Christes seruant.

¹² For our reioycing is this, the testimonie of our conscience, that in simplicitie and godly purenesse, and not in fleshly wisedome, but by the grace of God wee haue had our conuersation in the worlde, and most of all to you wardes.

¹⁵ And his inwarde affection is more aboundant toward you, when he remembreth the obedience of you all, and howe with feare and trembling ye receiued him.

² For I am ielous ouer you, with godly ielousie: for I haue prepared you for one husband, to present you as a pure virgine to Christ: ³ But I feare least as the serpent beguiled Eue through his subtiltie, so your mindes shoulde be corrupt from the simplicitie that is in Christ.

¹ Pavl an Apostle of Jesvs Christ by the will of God, to the Saints, which are at Ephesus, and to ye faithfull in Christ Iesus: ² Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ. ³ Blessed be God, and the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, which hath blessed vs with all spirituall blessing in heauenly thinges in Christ, ⁴ As hee hath chosen vs in him, before the foundation of the worlde, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in loue: ⁵ Who hath predestinate vs, to be adopted through Iesus Christ in him selfe, according to the good pleasure of his will, ⁶ To the prayse of the glory of his grace, wherewith he hath made vs freely accepted in his beloued, ⁷ By whom we haue redemption through his blood, euen the forgiuenes of sinnes, according to his rich grace: ⁸ Whereby he hath bene aboundant toward vs in all wisedome and vnderstanding, ⁹ And hath opened vnto vs the mysterie of his will according to his good pleasure, which he had purposed in him, ¹⁰ That in the dispensation of the fulnesse of the times, he might gather together in one all things, both which are in heauen, and which are in earth, euen in Christ: ¹¹ In whom also we are chosen when we were predestinate according to ye purpose of him, which worketh all things after the counsell of his owne will, ¹² That we, which first trusted in Christ, should be vnto the praise of his glorie: ¹³ In whom also ye haue trusted, after that ye heard the worde of trueth, euen the Gospel of your saluation, wherein also after that ye beleeued, ye were sealed with the holy Spirite of promise, ¹⁴ Which is the earnest of our inheritance, for the redemption of that libertie purchased vnto the prayse of his glory. ¹⁵ Therefore also after that I heard of the faith, which ye haue in the Lord Iesus, and loue toward all the Saints, ¹⁶ I cease not to giue thankes for you, making mention of you in my prayers, ¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Iesus Christ, that Father of glory, might giue vnto you the Spirit of wisedome, and reuelation through the acknowledging of him, ¹⁸ That the eyes of your vnderstanding may be lightened, that ye may knowe what the hope is of his calling, and what the riches of his glorious inheritance is in the Saints, ¹⁹ And what is the exceeding greatnesse of his power toward vs, which beleeue, according to the working of his mightie power, ²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his right hand in the heauenly places, ²¹ Farre aboue al principalitie, and power, and might, and domination, and euery Name, that is named, not in this world only, but also in that that is to come, ²² And hath made all things subiect vnder his feete, and hath giuen him ouer all things to be the head to the Church, ²³ Which is his body, euen the fulnesse of him that filleth all in all things.

²² Wiues, submit your selues vnto your husbands, as vnto the Lord.

²⁴ Grace be with all them which loue our Lord Iesus Christ, to their immortalitie, Amen.

¹² Wherefore my beloued, as ye haue alwayes obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in mine absence, so make an end of your owne saluation with feare and trembling.

¹⁷ And whatsoeuer ye shall doe, in worde or deede, doe all in the Name of the Lord Iesus, giuing thankes to God euen the Father by him. ¹⁸ Wiues, submit your selues vnto your husbands, as it is comely in the Lord. ¹⁹ Husbands, loue your wiues, and be not bitter vnto them. ²⁰ Children, obey your parents in all thing for that is well pleasing vnto the Lord. ²¹ Fathers, prouoke not your children to anger, least they be discouraged. ²² Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters according to the flesh, in all things, not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but in singlenes of heart, fearing God. ²³ And whatsoeuer ye doe, doe it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men, ²⁴ Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receiue the reward of the inheritance: for ye serue the Lord Christ.

¹ Let as many seruaunts as are vnder the yoke, count their masters worthie of all honour, that the Name of God, and his doctrine be not euill spoken of. ² And they which haue beleeuing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren, but rather doe seruice, because they are faithfull, and beloued, and partakers of the benefite. These things teach and exhort. ³ If any man teach otherwise, and consenteth not to the wholesome wordes of our Lord Iesus Christ, and to the doctrine, which is according to godlinesse,

⁹ Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again, ¹⁰ Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.

¹⁶ Not now as a seruant, but aboue a seruant, euen as a brother beloued, specially to me: howe much more then vnto thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord?

¹⁸ Seruaunts, be subiect to your masters with all feare, not onely to the good and courteous, but also to the froward. ¹⁹ For this is thanke worthie, if a man for conscience toward God endure griefe, suffering wrongfully. ²⁰ For what praise is it, if when ye be buffeted for your faultes, yee take it paciently? but and if when ye doe well, ye suffer wrong and take it paciently, this is acceptable to God. ²¹ For hereunto ye are called: for Christ also suffred for you, leauing you an ensample that ye should follow his steppes.
