¹⁰ He found him in ye land of ye wildernes, in a waste, and roaring wildernes: he led him about, he taught him, and kept him as ye apple of his eye.

³⁶ Out of heauen hee made thee heare his voyce to instruct thee, and vpon earth he shewed thee his great fire, and thou heardest his voyce out of the middes of the fire.

¹⁵ Who was thy guide in the great and terrible wildernes (wherein were fierie serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where was no water, who brought forth water for thee out of ye rock of flint: ¹⁶ Who fed thee in the wildernesse with MAN, which thy fathers knewe not) to humble thee, and and to proue thee, that he might doe thee good at thy latter ende.

¹⁹ Yet thou for thy great mercies forsookest them not in the wildernesse: the pillar of the cloude departed not from them by day to leade them the way, neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way whereby they should goe. ²⁰ Thou gauest also thy good Spirite to instruct them, and withheldest not thy MAN from their mouth, and gauest them water for their thirst. ²¹ Thou didest also feede them fourtie yeres in ye wildernes: they lacked nothing: their clothes waxed not old, and their feete swelled not.

⁸ Keepe me as the apple of the eye: hide me vnder the shadowe of thy wings,

⁷ Thou art my secret place: thou preseruest me from trouble: thou compassest me about with ioyfull deliuerance. Selah. ⁸ I will instruct thee, and teache thee in the way that thou shalt goe, and I will guide thee with mine eye. ⁹ Be ye not like an horse, or like a mule, which vnderstand not: whose mouthes thou doest binde with bit and bridle, least they come neere thee. ¹⁰ Many sorowes shall come to the wicked: but he, that trusteth in the Lord, mercie shall compasse him.

⁴ When they wandered in the desert and wildernesse out of the waie, and founde no citie to dwell in, ⁵ Both hungrie and thirstie, their soule fainted in them.

¹⁹ He sheweth his word vnto Iaakob, his statutes and his iudgements vnto Israel. ²⁰ He hath not dealt so with euery nation, neither haue they knowen his iudgements. Prayse ye the Lord.

² Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.

⁵ (Who is this that commeth vp out of the wildernesse, leaning vpon her welbeloued?) I raysed thee vp vnder an apple tree: there thy mother conceiued thee: there she coceiued that bare thee.

⁶ For they saide not, Where is the Lord that brought vs vp out of the lande of Egypt? that led vs through the wildernesse, through a desert, and waste land, through a drie land, and by the shadow of death, by a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

⁵ I did knowe thee in the wildernesse, in the land of drought.

⁸ For thus saith the Lord of hostes, After this glory hath hee sent me vnto the nations, which spoyled you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.

¹⁸ And knowest his will, and triest the things that dissent from it, in that thou art instructed by the Lawe:

² Much euery maner of way: for chiefly, because vnto them were of credite committed the oracles of God.
