⁷ But out of the bud of her rootes shall one stand vp in his stead, which shall come with an armie, and shall enter into the fortresse of the King of the North, and doe with them as he list, and shall preuaile,

⁷ For there is hope of a tree, if it bee cut downe, that it will yet sproute, and the branches thereof will not cease.

¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others. ¹¹ Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names. ¹² But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die. ¹³ This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. Selah.

²³ And thou, O God, shalt bring them downe into the pitte of corruption: the bloudie, and deceitfull men shall not liue halfe their dayes: but I will trust in thee.

⁸ Let his daies be fewe, and let another take his charge.

¹⁴ Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.

¹ But there shall come a rodde foorth of the stocke of Ishai, and a grasse shall growe out of his rootes.

² Thou hast planted them, and they haue taken roote: they grow, and bring forth fruite: thou art neere in their mouth, and farre from their reines.

¹⁸ For he hath despised the othe, and broken ye couenant (yet lo, he had giuen his hand) because he hath done all these things, he shall not escape.

¹⁹ For he shall turne his face toward the fortes of his owne land: but he shall be ouerthrowen and fall, and be no more founde. ²⁰ Then shall stand vp in his place in the glorie of the kingdome, one that shall raise taxes: but after fewe dayes he shall be destroyed, neither in wrath, nor in battell.

³⁸ But in his place shall he honour the god Mauzzim, and the god whom his fathers knewe not, shall he honour with golde and with siluer, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. ³⁹ Thus shall he do in the holdes of Mauzzim with a strange god whom he shall acknowledge: he shall increase his glory, and shall cause them to rule ouer many and shall deuide ye land for gaine.

¹ For behold, the day commeth that shall burne as an ouen, and all the proude, yea, and all that doe wickedly, shall be stubble, and the day that commeth, shall burne them vp, sayeth the Lord of hostes, and shall leaue them neither roote nor branche.

²⁰ But God said vnto him, O foole, this night wil they fetch away thy soule from thee: then whose shall those things be which thou hast prouided?
