²⁵ Neither is worshipped with mens handes, as though he needed any thing, seeing hee giueth to all life and breath and all things,

⁷ The Lord God also made the man of the dust of the grounde, and breathed in his face breath of life, and the man was a liuing soule.

²² And they fell vpon their faces and saide, O God the God of the spirits, of all fleshe, hath not one man onely sinned, and wilt thou bee wroth with all the Congregation?

¹⁶ Let the Lord God of the spirits of all flesh appoint a man ouer the Congregation,

¹⁰ In whose hande is the soule of euery liuing thing, and the breath of all mankinde.

² May a man be profitable vnto God, as he that is wise, may be profitable to himselfe?

³ Yet so long as my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God in my nostrels,

⁴ The Spirite of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almightie hath giuen me life.

¹⁴ If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath,

⁶ If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him, yea, when thy sinnes be many, what doest thou vnto him? ⁷ If thou be righteous, what giuest thou vnto him? or what receiueth he at thine hand?

² O my soule, thou hast sayd vnto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my weldoing extendeth not to thee,

⁸ I wil not reproue thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt offerings, that haue not bene continually before me. ⁹ I will take no bullocke out of thine house, nor goates out of thy foldes. ¹⁰ For all the beastes of the forest are mine, and the beastes on a thousand mountaines. ¹¹ I knowe all the foules on the mountaines: and the wilde beastes of the fielde are mine. ¹² If I bee hungry, I will not tell thee: for the world is mine, and all that therein is. ¹³ Will I eate the flesh of bulles? or drinke the blood of goates?

²⁷ All these waite vpon thee, that thou maiest giue them foode in due season. ²⁸ Thou giuest it to them, and they gather it: thou openest thine hand, and they are filled with good things. ²⁹ But if thou hide thy face, they are troubled: if thou take away their breath, they dye and returne to their dust. ³⁰ Againe if thou send forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renuest the face of the earth.

⁵ Thus sayeth God the Lord (he that created the heauens and spred them abroad: he that stretched foorth the earth, and the buddes thereof: he that giueth breath vnto the people vpon it, and spirit to them that walke therein)

¹⁶ For I will not contende for euer, neither will I be alwayes wroth, for the spirite should fayle before me: and I haue made the breath.

²⁰ Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, mine anger and my wrath shall be powred vpon this place, vpon man and vpon beast, and vpon the tree of the fielde, and vpon the fruite of the grounde, and it shall burne and not bee quenched. ²¹ Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Put your burnt offerings vnto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. ²² For I spake not vnto your fathers, nor commanded them, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offrings and sacrifices. ²³ But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voyce, and I will be your God, and yee shalbe my people: and walke yee in all the wayes which I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.

²¹ I hate and abhorre your feast dayes, and I wil not smelll in your solemne assemblies. ²² Though ye offer me burnt offrings and meat offrings, I wil not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offrings of your fat beasts. ²³ Take thou away from me the multitude of thy songs (for I wil not heare the melodie of thy violes)

¹ The burden of the worde of the Lord vpon Israel, sayth the Lord, which spred the heauens, and layed the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirite of man within him.

⁴⁵ That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euill, and the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and vniust.

¹³ But goe yee and learne what this is, I will haue mercie, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.

¹⁷ Neuerthelesse, hee left not him selfe without witnes, in that hee did good and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with foode, and gladnesse.

²⁸ For in him we liue, and mooue, and haue our being, as also certaine of your owne Poets haue sayd, for we are also his generation.

³⁵ Or who hath giuen vnto him first, and he shalbe recompensed?

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, and that they trust not in vncertaine riches, but in the liuing God, (which giueth vs aboundantly, all things to enioy)
