¹⁰ Nowe therefore, why tempt ye God, to lay a yoke on the disciples neckes, which neither our fathers, nor we were able to beare?

² Wherefore the people contended with Moses, and sayde, Giue vs water that we may drinke. And Moses sayde vnto them, Why contende yee with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord?

¹² But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.

⁷ Iesus saide vnto him, It is written againe, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

²⁸ Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you. ²⁹ Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules. ³⁰ For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.

⁴ For they binde heauie burdens, and grieuous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders, but they themselues will not moue them with one of their fingers.

¹ Then I say, that the heire as long as hee is a childe, differeth nothing from a seruant, though he be Lord of all, ² But is vnder tutours and gouernours, vntil the time appointed of the Father. ³ Euen so, we when wee were children, were in bondage vnder the rudiments of the world. ⁴ But when the fulnesse of time was come, God sent forth his Sonne made of a woman, and made vnder the Lawe, ⁵ That hee might redeeme them which were vnder the Law, that we might receiue the adoption of the sonnes.

⁹ But now seeing ye knowe God, yea, rather are knowen of God, howe turne ye againe vnto impotent and beggerly rudiments, whereunto as from the beginning ye wil be in bondage againe?

¹ Stand fast therefore in the libertie wherewith Christ hath made vs free, and be not intangled againe with the yoke of bondage.

⁹ Where your fathers tempted me, prooued me, and sawe my workes fourtie yeeres long.

⁹ Which was a figure for that present time, wherein were offred gifts and sacrifices that could not make holy, concerning the conscience, him that did the seruice,
