⁴¹ Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and vanish away: for I woorke a woorke in your daies, a woorke which yee shall not beleeue, if a man would declare it you.

²⁴ Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde. ²⁵ But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction. ²⁶ I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth. ²⁷ Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you, ²⁸ Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me, ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord. ³⁰ They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction. ³¹ Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises. ³² For ease slaieth the foolish, and the prosperitie of fooles destroyeth them.

¹² And say, How haue I hated instruction, and mine heart despised correction!

²⁴ Therefore as the flame of fire deuoureth the stubble, and as the chaffe is cosumed of the flame: so their roote shalbe as rottennesse, and their bud shall rise vp like dust, because they haue cast off the Lawe of the Lord of hostes, and contemned the word of the holy one of Israel.

¹⁴ Wherefore, heare the worde of the Lord, ye scornefull men that rule this people, which is at Ierusalem. ¹⁵ Because ye haue said, We haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge runne ouer, and passe through, it shall not come at vs: for we haue made falshood our refuge, and vnder vanitie are we hid, ¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will laye in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Hee that beleeueth, shall not make haste. ¹⁷ Iudgement also will I laye to the rule, and righteousnesse to the balance, and the haile shall sweepe away the vaine confidence, and the waters shall ouerflowe the secret place. ¹⁸ And your couenant with death shalbe disanulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall runne ouer and passe through, then shall ye be trode downe by it. ¹⁹ When it passeth ouer, it shall take you away: for it shall passe through euery morning in the day, and in the night, and there shalbe onely feare to make you to vnderstand the hearing. ²⁰ For the bed is streight that it can not suffice, and the couering narowe that one can not wrappe himselfe. ²¹ For the Lord shall stand as in mount Perazim: hee shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his worke, his strage worke, and bring to passe his acte, his strange acte. ²² Nowe therefore be no mockers, least your bondes increase: for I haue heard of the Lord of hostes a consumption, euen determined vpon the whole earth.

¹⁵ And ye shall leaue your name as a curse vnto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay you and call his seruants by another name.

²⁶ And after threescore and two weekes, shall Messiah be slaine, and shall haue nothing,, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the citie and the Sanctuarie, and the end thereof shalbe with a flood: and vnto the end of the battell it shalbe destroyed by desolations. ²⁷ And he shall confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.

⁵ Beholde among the heathen, and regarde, and wonder, and maruaile: for I will worke a worke in your dayes: yee will not beleeue it, though it be tolde you.

¹⁰ When Iesus heard that, he marueiled, and said to them that folowed him, Verely, I say vnto you, I haue not found so great faith, euen in Israel. ¹¹ But I say vnto you, that many shall come from the East and West, and shall sit downe with Abraham, and Isaac, and Iacob, in the kingdome of heauen.

⁴¹ They saide vnto him, Hee will cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard vnto other husbandmen, which shall deliuer him the fruites in their seasons. ⁴² Iesus saide vnto them, Read ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes. ⁴³ Therefore say I vnto you, The kingdome of God shalbe taken from you, and shalbe giuen to a nation, which shall bring foorth the fruites thereof. ⁴⁴ And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone, he shalbe broken: but on whomsoeuer it shall fall, it will dash him a pieces.

⁷ But when the King heard it, he was wroth, and sent foorth his warriers, and destroyed those murtherers, and burnt vp their citie. ⁸ Then saide hee to his seruants, Truely the wedding is prepared: but they which were bidden, were not worthy. ⁹ Go ye therefore out into the high wayes, and as many as ye finde, bid them to the mariage. ¹⁰ So those seruantes went out into the hie wayes, and gathered together all that euer they found, both good and bad: so the wedding was furnished with ghestes.

³⁴ Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie, ³⁵ That vpon you may come all the righteous blood that was shed vpon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, vnto the blood of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whome ye slewe betweene the Temple and the altar. ³⁶ Verely I say vnto you, all these things shall come vpon this generation. ³⁷ Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee, how often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her chickins vnder her wings, and ye would not! ³⁸ Beholde, your habitation shalbe left vnto you desolate,

¹⁴ All these thinges heard the Pharises also which were couetous, and they scoffed at him.

⁴² Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes. ⁴³ For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side, ⁴⁴ And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.

²⁰ And when ye see Hierusalem besieged with souldiers, then vnderstand that the desolation thereof is neere. ²¹ Then let them which are in Iudea, flee to the mountaines: and let them which are in the middes thereof, depart out: and let not them that are in the countrey, enter therein. ²² For these be the dayes of vengeance, to fulfill all things that are written. ²³ But woe be to them that be with childe, and to them that giue sucke in those dayes: for there shalbe great distresse in this land, and wrath ouer this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall on the edge of the sword, and shalbe led captiue into all nations, and Hierusalem shalbe troden vnder foote of the Gentiles, vntill the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled. ²⁵ Then there shalbe signes in the sunne, and in the moone, and in the starres, and vpon the earth trouble among the nations with perplexitie: the sea and the waters shall roare. ²⁶ And mens hearts shall faile them for feare, and for looking after those thinges which shall come on the worlde: for the powers of heauen shall be shaken.

³⁵ And the people stoode, and behelde: and the rulers mocked him with them, saying, He saued others: let him saue himselfe, if hee be that Christ, the Chosen of God.

²³ For it shalbe that euery person which shall not heare that Prophet, shall be destroyed out of the people.

¹⁴ For we haue heard him say, that this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the ordinances, which Moses gaue vs.

⁴⁷ For so hath the Lord commanded vs, saying, I haue made thee a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be the saluation vnto the end of the world.

²¹ Then he sayd vnto me, Depart: for I will send thee farre hence vnto the Gentiles.

⁷ What then? Israel hath not obtained that he sought: but the election hath obteined it, and the rest haue bene hardened, ⁸ According as it is written, God hath giuen them the spirit of slumber: eyes that they should not see, and eares that they should not heare vnto this day. ⁹ And Dauid sayth, Let their table be made a snare, and a net, and a stumbling blocke, euen for a recompence vnto them. ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened that they see not, and bowe downe their backe alwayes. ¹¹ I demaund then, Haue they stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid: but through their fall, saluation commeth vnto the Gentiles, to prouoke them to follow them. ¹² Wherefore if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more shall their aboundance be? ¹³ For in that I speake to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the Apostle of ye Gentiles, I magnifie mine office, ¹⁴ To trie if by any meanes I might prouoke them of my flesh to follow them, and might saue some of them.

³ That is, that God by reuelation hath shewed this mysterie vnto me (as I wrote aboue in fewe wordes, ⁴ Whereby when ye reade, ye may knowe mine vnderstanding in the mysterie of Christ) ⁵ Which in other ages was not opened vnto the sonnes of men, as it is nowe reueiled vnto his holy Apostles and Prophets by the Spirit, ⁶ That the Gentiles should be inheriters also, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel, ⁷ Whereof I am made a minister by the gift of the grace of God giuen vnto me through the effectuall working of his power. ⁸ Euen vnto me the least of all Saints is this grace giuen, that I should preach among the Gentiles the vnsearchable riches of Christ,

²⁶ Which is the mysterie hid since the world began, and from all ages, but nowe is made manifest to his Saintes, ²⁷ To whome God woulde make knowen what is the riches of his glorious mysterie among the Gentiles, which riches is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

¹⁶ And forbid vs to preach vnto the Gentiles, that they might be saued, to fulfill their sinnes alwayes: for the wrath of God is come on them, to the vtmost.

²⁸ He that despiseth Moses Law, dieth without mercy vnder two, or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of howe much sorer punishment suppose ye shall hee be worthy, which treadeth vnder foote the Sonne of God, and counteth the blood of the Testament as an vnholy thing, wherewith he was sanctified, and doeth despite the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him that hath sayd, Vengeance belongeth vnto mee: I will recompense, saith the Lord. And againe, The Lord shall iudge his people.

¹⁷ For the time is come, that iudgement must beginne at the house of God. If it first beginne at vs, what shall the ende be of them which obey not the Gospel of God?
