⁷ Consider what I say: and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things:

³⁸ Then saide Pharaoh vnto his seruants, Can we finde such a man as this, in whom is the Spirit of God? ³⁹ The Pharaoh said to Ioseph, For as much as God hath shewed thee all this, there is no man of vnderstanding, or of wisedome like vnto thee.

¹ Then wrought Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and all cunning men, to whome the Lord gaue wisedome, and vnderstanding, to knowe howe to worke all maner worke for the seruice of the Sanctuarie, according to all that the Lord had commanded. ² For Moses had called Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and all the wise hearted men, in whose heartes the Lord had giuen wisedome, euen as many as their hearts encouraged to come vnto that worke to worke it.

¹⁶ Let the Lord God of the spirits of all flesh appoint a man ouer the Congregation, ¹⁷ Who may goe out and in before them, and leade them out and in, that the Congregation of the Lord be not as sheepe, which haue not a shepheard.

³⁹ Vnderstande therefore this day, and consider in thine heart, that the Lord, he is God in heauen aboue, and vpon the earth beneath: there is none other.

²⁹ Oh that they were wise, then they would vnderstand this: they would consider their latter ende.

¹² Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.

¹⁹ And giue vnto Salomon my sonne a perfit heart to keepe thy commandements, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doe all things, and to builde the house which I haue prepared.

⁸ And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead. ⁹ Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth. ¹⁰ Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people? ¹¹ And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King, ¹² Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.

⁹ And all men shall see it, and declare the worke of God, and they shall vnderstand, what he hath wrought.

⁷³ IOD. Thine hands haue made me and fashioned me: giue mee vnderstanding therefore, that I may learne thy commandements.

¹²⁵ I am thy seruant: graunt mee therefore vnderstanding, that I may knowe thy testimonies.

¹⁴⁴ The righteousnes of thy testimonies is euerlasting: graunt me vnderstanding, and I shall liue.

⁸ Let me heare thy louing kindenes in the morning, for in thee is my trust: shewe mee the way, that I should walke in, for I lift vp my soule vnto thee. ⁹ Deliuer me, O Lord, from mine enemies: for I hid me with thee.

³ (For if thou callest after knowledge, and cryest for vnderstanding: ⁴ If thou seekest her as siluer, and searchest for her as for treasures, ⁵ Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lord, and finde the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the Lord giueth wisdome, out of his mouth commeth knowledge and vnderstanding.

³² Then I behelde, and I considered it well: I looked vpon it, and receiued instruction.

³ The oxe knoweth his owner, and the asse his masters crib: but Israel hath not knowen: my people hath not vnderstand.

¹² And the harpe and viole, timbrel, and pipe, and wine are in their feastes: but they regard not the worke of the Lord, neither consider the worke of his handes.

²⁶ For his God doeth instruct him to haue discretion, and doeth teach him.

¹⁷ As for these foure children, God gaue them knowledge, and vnderstanding in al learning and wisedome: also he gaue Daniel vnderstanding of all visions and dreames.

⁴⁴ Marke these wordes diligently: for it shall come to passe, that the Sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men.

¹⁵ For I will giue you a mouth and wisdome, where against all your aduersaries shall not be able to speake, nor resist.

⁴⁵ Then opened he their vnderstanding, that they might vnderstand the Scriptures,

²⁶ But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father wil send in my Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, which I haue tolde you.

¹³ Howbeit, when he is come which is the Spirit of trueth, he will leade you into all trueth: for he shall not speake of himselfe, but whatsoeuer he shall heare, shall he speake, and he will shew you the things to come.

¹⁰ And deliuered him out of all his afflictions, and gaue him fauour and wisdome in the sight of Pharao King of Egypt, who made him gouernour ouer Egypt, and ouer his whole house.

⁸ For to one is giuen by the Spirit the word of wisdome: and to an other the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit:

¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Iesus Christ, that Father of glory, might giue vnto you the Spirit of wisedome, and reuelation through the acknowledging of him, ¹⁸ That the eyes of your vnderstanding may be lightened, that ye may knowe what the hope is of his calling, and what the riches of his glorious inheritance is in the Saints,

⁸ Furthermore, brethre, whatsoeuer things are true, whatsoeuer things are honest, whatsoeuer thinges are iust, whatsoeuer thinges are pure, whatsoeuer thinges are worthie loue, whatsoeuer things are of good report, if there be any vertue, or if there be any praise, thinke on these things,

⁹ For this cause wee also, since the day wee heard of it, cease not to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be fulfilled with knowledge of his will in all wisdome, and spirituall vnderstanding,

¹⁵ These things exercise, and giue thy selfe vnto them, that it may be seene howe thou profitest among all men.

¹ Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heauenly vocation, consider the Apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Iesus:

⁴ Nowe consider how great this man was, vnto whome euen the Patriarke Abraham gaue the tithe of the spoyles.

³ Consider therefore him that endured such speaking against of sinners, lest ye should be wearied and faint in your mindes.

⁷ So that we may boldly say, The Lord is mine helper, neither will I feare what man can doe vnto me.

⁵ If any of you lacke wisedome, let him aske of God, which giueth to all men liberally, and reprocheth no man, and it shalbe giuen him.

¹⁵ This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, and deuilish.

¹⁷ But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easie to be intreated, full of mercie and good fruites, without iudging, and without hipocrisie.

²⁰ But we know that that Sone of God is come, and hath giue vs a mind to know him, which is true: and we are in him that is true, that is, in that his Sone Iesus Christ: this same is that very God, and that eternal life.
