¹² And the Lord appeared to Salomon by night and said to him, I haue heard thy prayer, and haue chosen this place for my selfe to be an house of sacrifice.

⁵ But ye shall seeke the place which the Lord your God shall chose out of all your tribes, to put his Name there, and there to dwell, and thither thou shalt come, ⁶ And ye shall bring thither your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the offring of your hands, and your vowes, and your free offrings, and the first borne of your kine and of your sheepe.

² Then the Lord appeared vnto Salomon the second time, as he appeared vnto him at Gibeon.

⁶ Moreouer Eliiah saide vnto him, Tarie, I pray thee, here: for the Lord hath sent me to Iorden. But he saide, As the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, I will not leaue thee. So they went both together.

⁵ Turne againe, and tell Hezekiah the captaine of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of Dauid thy father, I haue heard thy prayer, and seene thy teares: behold, I haue healed thee, and ye third day thou shalt go vp to ye house of ye Lord,

⁷ The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.

¹⁶ For I haue nowe chosen and sanctified this house, that my Name may be there for euer: and mine eyes and mine heart shalbe there perpetually.

¹⁷ Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the poore: thou preparest their heart: thou bendest thine eare to them,

¹⁹ But God hath heard me, and considered the voyce of my prayer.

⁶⁸ But chose the tribe of Iudah, and mount Zion which he loued. ⁶⁹ And he built his Sanctuarie as an high palace, like the earth, which he stablished for euer.

¹³ For the Lord hath chosen Zion, and loued to dwell in it, saying, ¹⁴ This is my rest for euer: here will I dwell, for I haue a delite therein.

¹³ But the Angel saide vnto him, Feare not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard, and thy wise Elisabet shall beare thee a sonne, and thou shalt call his name Iohn.

³¹ And sayd, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine almes are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

¹⁴ And this is that assurance, that we haue in him, that if we aske any thing according to his will, he heareth vs. ¹⁵ And if we know that he heareth vs, whatsoeuer we aske, we know that we haue the petitions, that we haue desired of him.
