¹⁶ So when all Isarael sawe that the King would not heare them, the people answered the King, saying, What portion haue we in Dauid? for we haue none inheritance in the sonue of Ishai. O Israel, euery man to your tents: now see to thine owne house, Dauid. So all Israel departed to their tents.

³⁵ Neither shewed they mercy on the house of Ierubbaal, or Gideon, according to al the goodnesse which he had shewed vnto Israel.

²⁷ But on the morowe which was the second day of the moneth, Dauids place was emptie againe: and Saul sayde vnto Ionathan his sonne, Wherefore commeth not the sonne of Ishai to meate, neither yesterday nor to day?

³⁰ Then was Saul angrie with Ionathan, and sayde vnto him, Thou sonne of the wicked rebellious woman, doe not I know, that thou hast chosen the sonne of Ishai to thy confusion, and to the confusion and shame of thy mother? ³¹ For as long as the sonne of Ishai liueth vpon the earth, thou shalt not be stablished, nor thy kingdome: wherefore now send and fet him vnto me, for he shall surely die.

⁷ And Saul said vnto his seruants that stood about him, Heare now, ye sonnes of Iemini, wil the sonne of Ishai giue euery one of you fields and vineyardes: will he make you all captaines ouer thousands, and captaines ouer hundreths:

⁹ Then answered Doeg the Edomite (who was appoynted ouer the seruants of Saul) and sayd, I saw the sonne of Ishai when he came to Nob, to Ahimelech the sonne of Ahitub,

¹³ Then Saul sayde vnto him, Why haue yee conspired against me, thou and the sonne of Ishai, in that thou hast giuen him vitaile, and a sworde, and hast asked counsell of God for him, that he should rise against me, and lye in wayte as appeareth this day?

¹⁵ But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee. ¹⁶ And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.

¹³ Then came a messenger to Dauid, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are turned after Absalom.

¹¹ And Dauid sayd to Abishai, and to all his seruants, Beholde, my sonne which came out of mine owne bowels, seeketh my life: then howe much more now may this sonne of Iemini? Suffer him to curse: for the Lord hath bidden him.

¹ Then there was come thither a wicked man (named Sheba the sonne of Bichri, a man of Iemini) and hee blew the trumpet, and saide, Wee haue no part in Dauid, neither haue we inheritance in the sonne of Ishai: euery man to his tents, O Israel.

¹³ Howbeit I wil not rent all the Kingdome, but will giue one tribe to thy sonne, because of Dauid my seruant, and because of Ierusalem which I haue chosen.

³⁴ But I will not take the whole kingdome out of his hande: for I will make him prince all his life long for Dauid my seruants sake, whome I haue chosen, and who kept my commandements and my statutes. ³⁵ But I will take the kingdome out of his sonnes hand, and will giue it vnto thee, euen the ten tribes. ³⁶ And vnto his sonne will I giue one tribe, that Dauid my seruant may haue a light alway before me in Ierusalem the citie, which I haue chosen me, to put my Name there. ³⁷ And I wil take thee, and thou shalt reigne, euen as thine heart desireth, and shalt be King ouer Israel. ³⁸ And if thou hearken vnto all that I commande thee, and wilt walke in my wayes, and doe right in my sight, to keepe my statutes and my commandements, as Dauid my seruant did, then will I be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built vnto Dauid, and wil giue Israel vnto thee. ³⁹ And I will for this afflict the seede of Dauid, but not for euer.

¹⁴ But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,

¹⁹ And Israel rebelled against the house of Dauid vnto this day.

¹ Why doe the heathen rage, and the people murmure in vaine? ² The Kings of the earth band themselues, and the princes are assembled together against the Lord, and against his Christ. ³ Let vs breake their bands, and cast their cordes from vs. ⁴ But he that dwelleth in the heauen, shall laugh: the Lord shall haue them in derision. ⁵ Then shall hee speake vnto them in his wrath, and vexe them in his sore displeasure, saying, ⁶ Euen I haue set my King vpon Zion mine holy mountaine.

¹⁰ Surely the rage of man shall turne to thy praise: the remnant of the rage shalt thou restrayne.

²⁹ His seede also will I make to endure for euer, and his throne as the dayes of heauen. ³⁰ But if his children forsake my Lawe, and walke not in my iudgements: ³¹ If they breake my statutes, and keepe not my commandements: ³² Then will I visite their transgression with the rod, and their iniquitie with strokes. ³³ Yet my louing kindnesse will I not take from him, neither will I falsifie my trueth. ³⁴ My couenant wil I not breake, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. ³⁵ I haue sworne once by mine holines, that I will not fayle Dauid, saying, ³⁶ His seede shall endure for euer, and his throne shalbe as the sunne before me. ³⁷ He shalbe established for euermore as the moone, and as a faythfull witnes in the heauen. Selah.

¹⁷ There will I make the horne of Dauid to bud: for I haue ordeined a light for mine Anoynted.

⁶ For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace, ⁷ The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.

¹ But there shall come a rodde foorth of the stocke of Ishai, and a grasse shall growe out of his rootes.

²⁰ Thus sayth the Lord, If you can breake my couenant of the day, and my couenant of the night, that there should not be day, and night in their season, ²¹ Then may my couenant be broken with Dauid my seruant, that he should not haue a sonne to reigne vpon his throne, and with the Leuites, and Priests my ministers.

²⁵ Thus sayth the Lord, If my couenant be not with day and night, and if I haue not appointed the order of heauen and earth, ²⁶ Then will I cast away the seede of Iaakob and Dauid my seruant, and not take of his seede to be rulers ouer the seede of Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob: for I wil cause their captiuitie to returne, and haue compassion on them.

²⁴ And Dauid my seruant shalbe king ouer them, and they all shall haue one shepheard: they shall also walke in my iudgements, and obserue my statutes, and doe them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the lande, that I haue giuen vnto Iaakob my seruant, where your fathers haue dwelt, and they shall dwel therein, euen they, and their sonnes, and their sonnes sonnes for euer, and my seruant Dauid shall bee their prince for euer.

¹¹ In that day will I raise vp the tabernacle of Dauid, that is fallen downe, and close vp the breaches therof, and I will rayse vp his ruines, and I will builde it, as in the dayes of olde,

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Sonne of the most High, and the Lord God shall giue vnto him the throne of his father Dauid. ³³ And hee shall reigne ouer the house of Iacob for euer, and of his kingdome shall bee none ende.

¹⁴ Nowe his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not haue this man to reigne ouer vs.

²⁷ Moreouer, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reigne ouer them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

⁶⁶ From that time, many of his disciples went backe, and walked no more with him.

⁵³ And euery man wet vnto his owne house.

³⁰ Therefore, seeing hee was a Prophet, and knewe that God had sworne with an othe to him, that of the fruite of his loynes hee woulde raise vp Christ concerning the flesh, to set him vpon his throne,

²⁵ For he must reigne till hee hath put all his enemies vnder his feete.

¹⁶ I Iesus haue sent mine Angell, to testifie vnto you these things in the Churches: I am the root and the generation of Dauid, and the bright morning starre.
