⁴⁵ Then sayd Dauid to the Philistim, Thou commest to me with a sword, and with a speare, and with a shield, but I come to thee in the Name of the Lord of hostes, the God of the hoste of Israel, whom thou hast rayled vpon.

¹⁰ Also the Philistim saide, I defie the hoste of Israel this day: giue mee a man, that we may fight together.

²⁶ Then Dauid spake to the men that stoode with him, and sayde, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistim, and taketh away the shame from Israel? for who is this vncircumcised Philistim, that he shoulde reuile the hoste of the liuing God?

³⁶ So thy seruaunt slue both the lyon, and the beare: therefore this vncircumcised Philistim shall be as one of them, seeing hee hath railed on the hoste of the liuing God.

³³ God is my strength in battel, and maketh my way vpright. ³⁴ He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and hath set me vpon mine hie places. ³⁵ He teacheth mine handes to fight, so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes.

⁸ With him is an arme of flesh, but with vs is the Lord our God for to helpe vs, and to fight our battels. Then the people were confirmed by the wordes of Hezekiah King of Iudah.

⁸ Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord, and thy blessing is vpon thy people. Selah.

² The Lord is my rocke, and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth me, my God and my strength: in him will I trust, my shield, the horne also of my saluation, and my refuge.

⁵ That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions. ⁶ Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand. ⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

⁶ For I do not trust in my bowe, neither can my sworde saue me.

¹⁰ All nations haue compassed me: but in the Name of the Lord shall I destroy them. ¹¹ They haue compassed mee, yea, they haue compassed mee: but in the Name of the Lord I shall destroy them.

⁸ Our helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.

¹⁰ The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth vnto it, and is exalted.

²³ Whome hast thou railed on and blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the holy one of Israel.

²⁸ But I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy comming in, and thy fury against me.

³² And what shall I more say? for the time would be too short for me to tell of Gedeon, of Barac, and of Sampson, and of Iephte, also of Dauid, and Samuel, and of the Prophets: ³³ Which through faith subdued kingdomes, wrought righteousnesse, obteined the promises, stopped the mouthes of lions, ³⁴ Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sworde, of weake were made strong, waxed valiant in battell, turned to flight the armies of the aliants.
