⁸ Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:

¹⁵ The lions roared vpon him and yelled, and they haue made his land waste: his cities are burnt without an inhabitant.

³⁸ They shall rore together like lions, and yell as the lyons whelpes.

⁷ And he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.

²⁵ There is a conspiracie of her prophets in the mids thereof like a roaring lyon, rauening the praye: they haue deuoured soules: they haue taken the riches and precious things: they haue made her many widowes in the mids thereof.

¹ And he shewed mee Iehoshua the hie Priest, standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan stoode at his right hand to resist him.

³ There is the voyce of the houling of the shepherdes: for their glorie is destroyed: the voyce of ye roaring of lyons whelpes: for the pride of Iorden is destroyed.

¹ Then was Iesus led aside of the Spirit into the wildernes, to be tempted of the deuil.

¹¹ Then the deuill left him: and beholde, the Angels came, and ministred vnto him.

³⁹ And the enemie that soweth them, is the deuill, and the haruest is the end of the worlde, and the reapers be the Angels.

⁴² Watch therefore: for ye knowe not what houre your master will come.

⁴⁸ But if that euil seruant shall say in his heart, My master doth deferre his comming, ⁴⁹ And begin to smite his fellowes, and to eate, and to drinke with the drunken, ⁵⁰ That seruaunts master will come in a day, when he looketh not for him, and in an houre that he is not ware of,

⁴¹ Then shall he say vnto them on ye left hand, Depart from me ye cursed, into euerlasting fire, which is prepared for the deuill and his angels.

⁴⁵ But if that seruant say in his heart, My master doeth deferre his comming, and ginne to smite the seruants, and maydens, and to eate, and drinke, and to be drunken, ⁴⁶ The master of that seruant will come in a day when he thinketh not, and at an houre when he is not ware of, and will cut him off, and giue him his portion with the vnbeleeuers.

³⁴ Take heede to your selues, lest at any time your hearts be oppressed with surfeting and drunkennesse, and cares of this life, and least that day come on you at vnwares.

³⁶ Watche therefore, and pray continually, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these thinges that shall come to passe, and that ye may stand before the Sonne of man.

³¹ And the Lord saide, Simon, Simon, beholde, Satan hath desired you, to winowe you as wheate.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.

¹¹ And that, considering the season, that it is now time that we should arise from sleepe: for now is our saluation neerer, then when we beleeued it. ¹² The night is past, and the day is at hande, let vs therefore cast away the workes of darkenesse, and let vs put on the armour of light, ¹³ So that wee walke honestly, as in the day: not in gluttonie, and drunkennesse, neither in chambering and wantonnes, nor in strife and enuying.

²⁷ Neither giue place to the deuill.

¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the assaultes of the deuil.

⁶ Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night, and they that be drunken, are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let vs which are of the day, be sober, putting on the brest plate of faith and loue, and of the hope of saluation for an helmet.

⁹ Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,

¹⁵ Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.

² A Bishop therefore must be vnreproueable, the husband of one wife, watching, temperate, modest, harberous, apt to teache,

¹¹ Likewise their wiues must be honest, not euill speakers, but sober, and faithfull in all things.

¹⁷ Notwithstanding the Lord assisted me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully beleeued, and that al the Gentiles should heare: and I was deliuered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁸ But harberous, one that loueth goodnesse, wise, righteous, holy, temperate,

² That the elder men be watchful, graue, teperate, sounde in the faith, in loue, and in patience:

⁴ That they may instruct the yong women to be sober minded, that they loue their husbands, that they loue their children,

⁶ Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded.

¹² And teacheth vs that we should denie vngodlinesse and worldly lusts, and that we should liue soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world,

⁷ Submit your selues to God: resist the deuill, and he will flee from you.

¹³ Wherefore, girde vp the Ioynes of your minde: bee sober, and trust perfectly on that grace that is brought vnto you, in the reuelation of Iesus Christ,

⁷ Now the ende of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober, and watching in prayer.

⁸ He that comitteth sinne, is of the deuil: for the deuill sinneth from the beginning: for this purpose was made manifest that Sonne of God, that he might loose the workes of the deuil. ⁹ Whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not: for his seede remaineth in him, neither can hee sinne, because he is borne of God. ¹⁰ In this are the children of God knowen, and the children of the deuil: whosoeuer doeth not righteousnesse, is not of God, neither he that loueth not his brother.

⁹ And the great dragon, that olde serpent, called the deuil and Satan, was cast out, which deceiueth all the world: he was euen cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹² Therefore reioyce, ye heauens, and ye that dwell in them. Wo to the inhabitants of the earth, and of the sea: for the deuill is come downe vnto you, which hath great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.

² And he tooke the dragon that olde serpent, which is the deuill and Satan, and he bounde him a thousand yeeres:

¹⁰ And the deuill that deceiued them, was cast into a lake of fire and brimstone, where that beast and that false prophet are, and shall be tormented euen day and night for euermore.
