¹² And he tooke away the Sodomites out of the lande, and put away all the idoles that his fathers had made.

⁷ Then did Salomon build an hie place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the mountaine that is ouer against Ierusalem, and vnto Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon. ⁸ And so did he for all his outlandish wiues, which burnt incense and offered vnto their gods.

²³ For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree. ²⁴ There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

³ And hee walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfit with the Lord his God as the heart of Dauid his father.

⁴⁶ And the Sodomites, which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the land.

² And Asa did that was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God. ³ For he tooke away the altars of the strange gods and the hie places, and brake downe the images, and cut downe the groues, ⁴ And commanded Iudah to seeke the Lord God of their fathers, and to doe according to the Lawe and the comandement. ⁵ And he tooke away out of all the cities of Iudah the hie places, and the images: therefore the kingdome was quiet before him.

¹⁸ But I said vnto their children in the wildernes, Walke ye not in the ordinances of your fathers, neither obserue their maners, nor defile your selues with their idoles. ¹⁹ I am the Lord your God: walke in my statutes, and keepe my iudgements and doe them,

² The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers. ³ Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes. ⁴ Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord. ⁵ your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer? ⁶ But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.

²⁶ For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature. ²⁷ And likewise also the men left the naturall vse of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthinesse, and receiued in themselues such recompence of their errour, as was meete.

¹⁸ Knowing that yee were not redeemed with corruptible things, as siluer and golde, from your vaine conuersation, receiued by the traditions of the fathers,

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrhe, and the cities about them, which in like maner as they did, committed fornication, and followed strange flesh, are set foorth for an ensample, and suffer the vengeance of eternall fire.
