⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints and to be had in reverence of all those that are about him.

³ ¶ Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is what the LORD spoke, saying, I will be sanctified in those that come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron was silent.

² For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

⁷ ¶ Thou, even thou, art to be feared, and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? ⁸ From the heavens thou didst cause judgment to be heard; the earth feared and was still, ⁹ when thou didst arise unto judgment, O God, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. ¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall cause praise to come unto thee; the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. ¹¹ Vow and pay unto the LORD your God; let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

² Above it stood the seraphims; each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. ³ And one cried out unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of the hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory. ⁴ And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ ¶ Then I said, Woe is me! for I am dead because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of the hosts. ⁶ Then one of the seraphim flew unto me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: ⁷ And he laid it upon my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched thy lips; and it shall take away thy guilt, and thy sin shall be cleansed.

² For all these things my hand has made, by my hand has these things been, said the LORD; but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembles at my word.

⁷ Who would not fear thee, O King of the Gentiles? for unto thee does it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the Gentiles and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.

¹⁰ But the LORD God is the Truth, he himself is Living God and Everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the Gentiles shall not be able to abide his indignation.

²⁸ And fear not those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁴ And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of those that kill the body and, after that, have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who, after being killed, has power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

¹¹ And great fear came upon all the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and upon as many as heard these things.

²⁸ Therefore, receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us hold fast to the grace, by which we serve God, pleasing him with reverence and godly fear: ²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. ⁴ Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and magnify thy name? for thou only art holy; therefore, all the Gentiles shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
