¹ To the Overcomer,
A Psalm or Song of David. ¶ Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let those that hate him flee before him.

⁵ Thou shalt not bow down to them nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons unto the third and fourth generation of those that hate me

³⁵ And it came to pass, when the ark was moved, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered, and let those that hate thee flee before thee.

¹⁰ and repays him that hates him to his face, to destroy him; he will not be slack to him that hates him; he will repay him to his face.

⁴¹ Now, therefore, arise, O LORD God, to inhabit thy resting place, thou and the ark of thy strength; let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation and let thy merciful ones rejoice in goodness.

⁶ Arise, O LORD, in thine anger; lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake the judgment in my favour that thou hast commanded. ⁷ So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about, for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

⁸ Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies; thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

²⁶ Arise for our help and ransom us for thy mercies’ sake.

¹¹ Slay them not lest my people forget; scatter them by thy power and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

¹⁴ When the Almighty scattered the kings that were in her, she became white as the snow in Salmon.

³⁰ Reprehend the company of spearmen, the multitude of the strong, with the lords of the peoples, trampling them underfoot with their pieces of silver; Destroy thou the peoples that delight in war.

⁶⁵ Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine. ⁶⁶ And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts; he put them to a perpetual reproach. ⁶⁷ Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim: ⁶⁸ But chose the tribe of Judah, the Mount Zion which he loved.

¹⁰ Thou hast broken Egypt in pieces as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

⁸ Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. ⁹ Thy priests are clothed with righteousness, and thy merciful ones shout for joy.

³ At the noise of the tumult the peoples fled; at the lifting up of thyself the Gentiles were scattered.

¹⁵ Behold, I have placed thee as a threshing instrument, as a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth; thou shalt thresh the mountains and beat them small and shalt make the hills as chaff. ¹⁶ Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; but thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹³ ¶ The LORD shall go forth as a giant; he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war; he shall cry out a battle cry; he shall prevail against his enemies. ¹⁴ I have long time held my peace; I have been still and refrained myself; now will I cry out like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

⁹ ¶ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in ages past. Art thou not he who cut off the proud one, and he who smote the dragon? ¹⁰ Art thou not he who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; he who turned the depths of the sea into a way, that the redeemed might pass over?

² Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and thou shalt take a third part and smite about it with a knife; and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.

¹⁴ And I will scatter toward every wind all that were about him to help him and all his companies; and I will draw out the sword after them. ¹⁵ And they shall know that I am the LORD when I shall scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them in the countries.

³⁵ Then was the iron, the baked clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold broken to pieces together and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away that no place was found for them again; and the stone that smote the image was made into a great mountain that filled the whole earth.

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him. ²⁴ He that does not love me does not keep my words, and the word which ye have heard is not mine, but of the Father who sent me.
