⁴ and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.

²⁰ For *ye* are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.

¹³ If therefore *ye*, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall the Father who is of heaven give [the] Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

¹² for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the hour itself what should be said.

⁴¹ But while they yet did not believe for joy, and were wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything here to eat? ⁴² And they gave him part of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb; ⁴³ and he took it and ate before them.

⁴⁹ And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but do ye remain in the city till ye be clothed with power from on high.

³⁹ But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive; for [the] Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

¹⁶ And I will beg the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,

²⁶ but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, *he* shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you. ²⁷ I leave peace with you; I give *my* peace to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it fear. ²⁸ Ye have heard that I have said unto you, I go away and I am coming to you. If ye loved me ye would rejoice that I go to the Father, for [my] Father is greater than I.

²⁶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes forth from with the Father, *he* shall bear witness concerning me;

⁷ But I say the truth to you, It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go I will send him to you. ⁸ And having come, he will bring demonstration to the world, of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ⁹ of sin, because they do not believe on me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go away to [my] Father, and ye behold me no longer; ¹¹ of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now. ¹³ But when *he* is come, the Spirit of truth, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatsoever he shall hear he shall speak; and he will announce to you what is coming. ¹⁴ He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine and shall announce [it] to you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father has are mine; on account of this I have said that he receives of mine and shall announce [it] to you.

²² And having said this, he breathed into [them], and says to them, Receive [the] Holy Spirit:

³³ Having therefore been exalted by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which *ye* behold and hear.

⁴¹ not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, *us* who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.
