¹² loke well, that thou makest all soch as be stubburne, to obeye: treade all the vngodly vnder thy fete,

⁸ As for death, he shal vtterly cosume it, The LORDE God shal wipe awaye the teares from all faces, and take awaye the confucio of his people thorow ye whole worlde. For ye LORDE himself hath sayde it. ⁹ At the same tyme shal it be sayde: lo, this is oure God in who we put oure trust, and he hath healed vs. This is the LORDE that we haue wayted for: Let vs reioyse & delyte in his health. ¹⁰ For the hode of ye LORDE ceaseth vpo this hil. ³ I haue trodde the presse my self alone, & of all people, there was not one with me. Thus haue I trode downe myne enemies in my wrath, and set my fete vpo them in my indignacion: And their bloude sprange vpo my cloothes, & so haue I stayned all my rayment.

⁵ They shalbe as the giauntes, which in the batell treade downe the myre vpon ye stretes. They shal fight, for ye LORDE shalbe with them, so that the horsmen shalbe confounded.

³ Ye shal treade downe ye vngodly: for they shalbe like the asshes vnder the soles of youre fete, in the daye yt I shal make, sayeth the LORDE of hoostes.

¹⁹ Beholde, I haue geuen you power to treade vpon serpetes and scorpions, and ouer all power of the enemye, and nothinge shall hurte you.

³⁷ Neuerthelesse in all these thinges we ouercome farre, for his sake that loued vs.

²³ salute you Gaius myne ooste & ye oost of ye whole cogregacion saluteth you. Erastus ye chaberlaine of ye cite saluteth you & Quartus a brother saluteth you.

¹⁴ For as moch then as the children haue flesh and bloude. he also himselfe likewyse toke parte with them, yt he thorow death, mighte take awaye ye power of him, which had lordshippe ouer death, that is to saye, ye deuell: ¹⁵ & that he mighte delyuer the which thorow feare of death were all their life tyme in dauger of bodage.

⁸ He that commytteth synne, is of the deuell: for the deuell synneth sence ye begynnynge. For this purpose appeared the sonne of God, to lowse the workes of the deuell.

¹⁰ And I harde a lowde voyce, which sayde in heauen: Now is saluacion, and strength and the kyngdome become oure Gods, and ye power his Christes: For he is cast downe, which accused them before God daye and night.

¹ And I sawe an angell come downe from heauen, hauinge the keye of the bottomlesse pyt, and a gret chayne in his honde. ² And he toke the dragon that olde serpent (which is the deuell and Satanas) and he bounde him a thousand yeares: ³ and cast him in to the bottomlesse pyt, and he bounde him, and set a seale on him, that he shuld disceaue the people nomoare, tyll the thousand yeares were fulfilled. And after that muste he be lowsed for a littell season.
