³² The vngodly is afrayed of euery parell, but the rightuous hath a good hope eue in death.

¹⁸ LORDE I loke for thy saluacion.

¹⁵ Lo, there is nether coforte ner hope for me, yf he wil slaye me. But yf I shewe and reproue myne owne wayes in his sight,

¹⁸ he shalbe dryuen from the light into darcknesse, and be cast clene out of the worlde.

²⁵ For I am sure, that my redemer lyueth, and that I shall ryse out of the earth in the latter daye: ²⁶ that I shal be clothed againe with this skynne, and se God in my flesh. ²⁷ Yee I my self shal beholde him, not with other but with these same eyes. My reynes are consumed within me,

²⁰ Destruccion taketh holde vpo him as a water floude, & ye tepest stealeth him awaye in the night season. ²¹ A vehement wynde carieth him hence, & departeth: a storme plucketh him out of his place. ²² It ru?sheth in vpon him, and spareth him not, he maye not escape from the power therof.

¹¹ For why? thou shalt not leaue my soule in hell, nether shalt thou suffre thy saynte to se corrupcion. Thou hast shewed me the wayes off life: thou shalt make me full of ioye wt thy countenaunce. At thy right hande there is pleasure and ioye for euermore.

¹⁵ They haue children at their desyre, and leaue the reste of their substauce for their babes. But as for me, I will beholde thy presence in rightuousnes: and when thy glory appeareth, I shal be satisfied.

⁴ Though I shulde walke now in the valley of the shadowe of death, yet I feare no euell, for thou art with me: thy staffe & thy shepehoke coforte me.

³⁷ but when I wente by, lo, he was gone: I sought him, but he coude no where be founde.

⁹ Or euer youre thornes be sharpe, the wrath shal take them awaye quycke, like a stormy wynde.

¹⁵ Therfore shal his destruccion come hastely vpo him, sodenly shal he be all tobroken, and not be healed.

¹⁶ For a iust ma falleth seuen tymes, & ryseth vp agayne, but ye vngodly fall in to wickednes.

²⁶ Now the interpretacion off the thynge is this: Mane, God hath nombred thy kyngdome, and brought it to an ende: ²⁷ Thetel, Thou art weyed in the balaunce, and art founde to light: ²⁸ Phares, Thy kyngdome is delt in partes, and geuen to the Medes and Perses. ²⁹ Then commaunded Balthasar, to cloth Daniel with purple, to hange a cheyne off golde aboute his necke, and to make a proclamacion concernynge him: that he shulde be the ruler off the thirde parte off his kyngdome. ³⁰ The very same night was Balthasar the kynge off the Caldees slayne,

²⁹ LORDE, now lettest thou thy seruaut departe in peace, acordinge to thy promesse.

²¹ Then sayde Iesus agayne vnto them: I go my waye, and ye shal seke me, and shal dye in youre synnes: whither I go, thither can not ye come.

²⁴ Therfore haue I sayde vnto you, that ye shal dye in youre synnes. For yf ye beleue not that I am he, ye shal dye in youre synnes.

²² Therfore whan God wolde shewe wrath, and to make his power knowne, he broughte forth with greate pacience the vessels off wrath, which are ordeyned to damnacion:

⁵⁵ Death is swalowed vp in victory. Death, where is thy stynge? Hell, where is yi victory? ⁵⁶ The stynge of death is synne: The strength of synne is the lawe. ⁵⁷ But thankes be vnto God, which hath geue vs the victory thorow oure LORDE Iesus Christ. ⁵⁸ Therfore my deare brethre, be ye stedfast, vnmoueable, & all waye riche in the worke of the LORDE, for as moch as ye knowe, that youre laboure is not in vayne in the LORDE.

⁹ and had concluded in oure selues yt we must nedes dye. But this was done, because we shulde not put oure trust in oure selues, but in God, which rayseth vp the deed to life agayne:

⁸ Neuertheles we are of good comforte, and had leuer to be absent from the body, & to be at home with the LORDE.

²¹ For Christ is to me life, & death is to me auautage.

²³ I shal chose, for both these thinges lye harde vpon me. I desyre to be lowsed, & to be with Christ, which thinge were moch better (for me)

³ For whan they shal saye: Tush, It is peace, there is no daunger, then shall soden destruccion come vpo the, euen as the payne of a woman trauaylinge with childe, and they shal not escape.

¹⁸ And the LORDE shal delyuer me from all euell doynge, and shal kepe me vnto his heauenly kyngdome. To whom be prayse for euer and euer, Amen.

¹³ And I herde a voyce from heauen, sayenge vnto me: wryte: Blessed are ye deed, which here after dye in the LORDE. Yee the sprete sayeth, that they rest from their laboures, for their workes folowe them.
